Large pens for the peacocks are a good idea. They are pretty when wandering the yard, but they can easily fly to the top of the light poles to roost, making them hard to catch unless they have a roosting place where you can confine them. And if they decided to roost on the top of your truck - bye bye paint

Dean took oil field pipe and made a frame that is about 18 ft x 10 ft x 12 ft and then welded cattle panels onto the pipe. The bottom 3/4 is also covered with chicken wire and when I find time, I am going to finish putting chicken wire over the entire pen, so the 6 month old peachicks can't squeeze themselves out of the cattle panel squares at the top of the cage.

Keep watching Craigslist and the auctions. I posted on here a few weeks ago about a lady with an older model Sportsman incubator and matching hatcher for sale, but she has sold them. In the meantime, look around for Hovabators instead of LG incubators. They work pretty well.

Maribeth, Do you have Ameraucanas or EE's? What are your plans with them?
I think the next time I am able to downsize, I will sell all of my EE's and just keep the Ameraucans or at least the ones that look like Ameraucanas.
Of course until I get the snarkies cured, I won't be selling anything.

Oklahoma law states that if a dog is caught killing poultry or other livestock, the owner can be forced to euthanize the dog and pay damages. I don't have time to find the statute right now, but it is in the agriculture section of the statutes.
