Have you had any experience with the Brower metal incubators. I found two last week stashed away in an old trailer my dad had stuff stored in. One big and one smaller one.

they are ok for now , just tired of these dang ole neighbors dogs , i swear do people not care , im going to talk with my cousin he is a local police officer and im going to see about if i can make them pay for or replace the birds

Oklahoma law states that if a dog is caught killing poultry or other livestock, the owner can be forced to euthanize the dog and pay damages. I don't have time to find the statute right now, but it is in the agriculture section of the statutes.

where do i look for that , and ill search for it , because i have silkies , bantam cochins , lavender orpingtons , coronation split sussex , ameraucanas , welsummers , blue andalusians , white and brown leghorns , nn , EE , several oegb varieties and more that need replaced ..... i know i cant get all of them replaced due to me burning what bodies i have found , but it will be good to have a copy on hand for future reference

I have EEs because I like the blue eggs

I have had Ameracaunas in the past, but really don't have enough pens to keep all the breeds pure, so don't plan to spend the money on the more expensive Ameracaunas. I do like the EEs that have pea combs, just because I feel sorry for the birds when their straight combs freeze.

donnie - I have only used one LG and had so much trouble keeping the temperature constant that I think the heating element in them has "issues". I have hatched in Hovabators for years with decent results. Of course, if I were spending a lot of money on the eggs I hatch, I might pay more attention to my hatch rate and be more concerned when a batch doesn't do well. I think that as mentioned before on here, it is important to have the styrofoam incubators in a climate controlled room, rather than in an area with a lot of temperature fluctuations and drafts. That said, if you want to hatch large quantities of eggs, you are wise to choose a Sportsman style incubator.

Personally, I haven't had any experience with the Brower incubators. There are probably some threads discussing them in another section of BYC - not that I ever have time to go looking at other threads

If memory serves me correctly, I think that some folks make padded blankets for them to assist in keeping a steady temperature.

donnie,
Look in Title 4 of the Oklahoma Statutes. This Title deals with Animals.
Title 4, Section 41
A. It shall be lawful for a person to kill any animal of the family canidae or the family felidae found chasing livestock off the premises of the owner of such animal if the person is the owner or occupant of the property on which the animal is chasing the livestock or if the person is authorized to kill such an animal by the owner or occupant of such property. The owner of any such animal that kills or injures any livestock shall be jointly and severally liable to any person so damaged, to the full amount of the injury done. The court, before whom a recovery is had for any such injury, shall declare the animal found to have occasioned the injury to be a common nuisance, and order the defendant to kill or cause to be killed, such animal within twenty-four (24) hours after the rendition of the judgment. Appeals shall be allowed in all such cases. Such appeals shall be prosecuted in such manner as prescribed by general statutes governing appeals.

B. For purposes of this section:

1. "Livestock" means
any cattle, bison, hog, sheep, goat, equine, domesticated rabbits, chicken or other poultry and shall include exotic livestock; and

2. "Exotic livestock" means commercially raised exotic livestock including animals of the families bovidae, cervidae and antilocapridae or birds of the ratite group.
