Okies in the BYC The Original

Good morning one and all.

My only comments on the footbal games are these:
1. Pittsburg deserved the win, but giving up 19 unanswered points and failing to score in the second half doesn't convince me that they will be the Super Bowl Champs.
Grreen Bay had a hard time stopping a third string clipboard carrier. Give them credit for coming up with a big interception to seal the win but they didn't look too strong in the second half either.
I don't think either of these teams are the caliber of most of the past Super Bowl Champions.

I am in need of input from my Okie family buddies.
I am planning on crossing some Jersey Giants with my Naked Necks.
The Giant roo is truly a giant. My NN hens are almost, if not as big as my giant hens however, they are dwarfed by the big guy.
How dangerous is it breeding to a rooster this big? Is there protocol for breeding this way?
Is it a one day a week visit for mating or is it Ok to leave them together?
I also have some Marans rooster that are almost as big as the Giant .
I appreciate any input you guys can offer.

Monty can you post pictures of your birds in question? Truely wish NNBreeder was around. I haven't ever had such a size difference.

Sooner, One day I am gonna learn the whole picture thing. But not today so sorry no pics.
I am guessing the roo in question weighs at least 12 pounds if not more. The giant hens are probably about six pounds. I would say the NN hens are in the 5 to 6 pound range.
They are taller than the giants but not as wide.
I know people use big broosters to breed with all the time so maybe I am just worrying over nothing.

If it were me & I couldn't get any information from someone that has done this before I would put them together when I planned to be outside with them alot, possibly a weekend & just keep a close eye on them.

The picture thing isn't that hard, let me know when ya want to try or just email it to me or upload to your FB & I will post for you.
