Man, I wish I could come Friday evening and stay over! Are you coming by yourself Sooner? I am.

I don't have the room for even one more FEATHER at my place - already too crowded. So don't let me see Silkies. I don't want them, don't know anything about them, but I can't stop thinking about Silkies. And last night I had a dream about Black Copper Marans eggs...huh?!? I don't want any BC Marans... I would like some Speckled Sussex, but like I said...no room, CANNOT bring anything home from POOPS.

(anybody need a pregnant cat?)

One step forward, two steps back. Let me explain. I have what I call the "gang of five" in my yard. They are the first five babies from Sarge, my new top breeding cock. Two cockerels and three pullets.

The smallest of the pullets is possibly the best I have ever raised. She's young and small, but she has it all. Great width, beautiful feathering, perfect tail and level back. All in all. a great show prospect. The others are pretty good, but next to her, they look like crows. She's still a baby but I'm already excited about how she will fit into the breeding program.

Last night, my wife was going to lock the birds up for me. She has a woman coming to pick up a puppy she'd sold so she was going to lock up the coop for me while she was out there.

She forgot. She got busy talking about schnausers and church and what-not and forgot to close up the coop. An owl came calling and guess who he picked. Out of all the birds he could have chosen, take a wild guess which one got it.

And now the 'gang of five' is a quartet. I am just sick over it. I think I'll look into an automatic door closer for the coop.

OK, I'm thru bellyachin'. Y'all have a nice day.

Ah stimpy sorry you lost the best one!! Isn't that they way it always goes?? Wonder why that is?

Just had my kitty cat fixed so I don't have to worry about babies! She has been mad at me for a week cause she can't go outside. LOL.

Okay Sooner - looking forward to meeting you!

STIMPY! THAT IS SO SAD! I'm so very sorry about your loss. It's like those predators hang around to see which clucks are our very favorites and pick those first. What a bummer.

Great to hear that your feeling better, so you are losing your voice huh, is that a bad thing?? hehehe. I really want you guy's to come to Cement. Last month we had a BYC section and we all sat together bidding & visiting we had at least 8 of us and had such a goood time, we missed you & Mike. So take a bunch of good cold medicine and do whatever it takes to get yer bun's to Cement, That is an ORDER Soldier.

I had a close call with the eggs this morning, I don't know why but I got up really early wondering about the eggs. Last night when I moved them to the hatching tray all was fine, during the night the temp dropped 3 degrees I think from the shelf liner install. So I jacked with the temp and Humidity for about a 30 min and got it back just right, so I think there was no harm done. Close call though, geeeezzz I hate being a rookie at this.

Yeah, this cat is a stray - I found and rescued her littermate last October - DBF was mowing down in back and almost ran over this tiny baby black kitten so he brought it up to me...Now he's neutered and is an indoor cat. A few weeks later I saw this little black calico kitten and dumb me decided to put out food since she's "related." I guess I'm in for a penny in for a pound now.

DANG!!!!! Stimpster what a bad turn of events, your luck needs some good moe joe about now. I have a Rooster Similar in name to yours I call him Ole Sarge, go figure huh.

Thanks y'all. And they can talk all they want about how 'endangered' those owls are, but they won't believe how endangered the next one I see around my place is. That sucker will go the way of the dinosaur.

Henny, I agree with you about how eloquence of our forefathers. Language was almost an art form then. They practiced word economy in their speech as well as their writing. One of my favorite quotes says, "I would have written you a shorter letter, but I did not have the time." They didn't just scribble and mail. They took the time to think out each sentence and paragraph before they put it to paper, and made sure that its meaning was unmistakable.

What would they think of ebonics?

Cement is a little town near Cyril Ok that has a great poultry auction every first Saturday of the month. There are always a bunch of us Okies in BYC that attend regularly. It is a nice auction with a good building, clean, nice, w/a concession stand, they sell only poultry and poultry related items so you won't see grandma's old shoes on the auction block. they always have ton's of birds, chicks, hatching eggs and the like. it starts at 5:00 pm and goes at least until 11:00 pm. You should come and find us, let me know and I will get you to meet all of us.
