LOL, yes you were missed!!! Glad hubby could fix your cord, I am not sure I would be on here as much if I had to sit at the desk!! Plus sharing time with the kids!

Ya know I never thought about just setting up my tent for POOPS, hum that might be a thought. I will have to think about that.

I moved my niece today, thank goodness we are completely done, if I didn't have good strong boys I don't know how we would of gotten it done. Her hubby is deployed in Iraq and she is 3 months pregant.

I have a sad story! Hubby was burning brush piles from the last ice storm and one of my black hens was setting on a nest in the pile. It was dark so he didn't see her in there, I feel sick. I had been missing her but couldn't find her an thought she may of went to the neighbors or something had gotten her.

Anybody do any good at the swaps or sales today? I went to another big Amish sale in Ky . Talk about getting a "fix"! It was huge. Proably over a thousand birds,not counting all the boxes of chicks. I was fortunate enough to get a trio of golden laced cochin bantams and a roo and four hens of belgian quail bantams. Bid on lots of other stuff but I'm just to much of a tight wad I guess. The belgians I was determined to get because I wanted to set my son-ilaw up with them. They were $12.50 each! I think the prettiest birds I saw were a pen of white orpingtons! They were in their prime and pristine white,just goregous. Also saw a beautiful pair of white langsins. The hen had layed and I was surprised the egg was small? maybe because she was a pullet. Prettiest waterfowl was a pair of Bar-headed Geese. They sold for $40 each!Lots of calls,going around $12-25 each. Turkeys were around $25-35 each. Just so many breeds its hard to describe. I was in hog(or chicken) heaven!

Just made our reservations for a tent site with electricity and water availability....had to so I could plug my laptop in at night.LOL...I'm an addict...they have free WiFi at the KOA! Mom and Dad are bringing their monster tent and camping stuff, so we are set! Instead of getting two separate tent sites, we just got one and will use their big tent instead of bringing ours too.

I've been hyping up this site to my mom, so don't be surprised if she signs on and starts joining in. She has only a few hens right now, but used to have a pretty big backyard flock, but sold it all off a couple years ago. My nephew lives next door to them and he has his rabbits at their place...three of them now and is wanting to get a pig to raise for FFA. They live on 12 acres with two nice corrals with pole barns, etc. They sold their horse to me last year so they don't have any livestock now, but are thinking of getting a drop calf to raise for beef.

I'm so excited about POOPS now...

Hubby has been throwing around the idea of getting some quail, just for the fun of it. He wants some bobwhite quail and I like the idea of some cute little button quail.

Here's the deal...he wants to build a hutch for them *in the house* so we can enjoy them he says. Is this something that is really doable....you know like keeping parakeets and cockatoos, but just quail instead in a hutch in the living room.

You quail keepers, what's your thoughts on this?

i sold alot at the tulsa flea market today.got to meet Pepper off of here.my son bought a couple old english hens a blue wheaton an a buff.he has abunch of diffrnt ones with his prize BB red roo.sold lots of roos an all our baby rabbits 10 baby ducks some baby african geese an about 40 rir an silver laced windotes chicks.lots of people out today.sure was nice

Hey guys...

What a great day... But I am bushed!

Hubby took me to Cement!! Yay! Carla I am so sorry about your migraine....I prayed for you! I was so looking forward to having a REAL conversation and getting to meet your Gerald... Oh well... there's always POOPS.. But we got to hang with Big Al... and he is always a blast... I was blown away by the price of laying hens....!!! I wanted to buy all of Carla's eggs and get a bator!!! Al and Mike had to hold me back!! Bad thing about auctions.... I get the urge to raise my hand.... don't know why....! Then we stopped and had a late dinner at the Olive Garden... service was lousy, but I had a great red wine and some chocolate dessert that was worth the whole trip....!!!

Sonya....glad you are back.... Glad the hubby is doing okie dokie.... My Hubby had one stone one time... and they were never sure if he passed it....He got sick of peeing in the "sink strainer" (his words!) But thye told him always to have Lortab on hand... They did a CT scan recently and found out he is stoneless.... So he is very relieved....They say blasting them hurts worse that the stone itself... he was very afraid.

Stimp... hope life turns up for ya.... sometimes it just don't pay to get outta bed.... Semper Gumby (always flexible).

After tonight I am really looking forward to POOPS and getting to relax and hang out and meet everyone. I am bringing a deck chair and my butt.... going to harass Al while he cooks and try to keep arachnophiles away from Teach.... I am still on guard!!!

Good Morning Okies......

It was nice meeting bigokie yesterday at the flea market. He had some nice birds and the cutest baby wild pigs. If I had a place to keep them, I would have brought some home with me.

I put the chicks from the last hatch outside yesterday and have another batch of 65 due on Tuesday.

Morning, I wanted to put my last weeks hatch outside yesterday but went to a baby shower instead. I will be a GREAT Aunt in 20 days or less.

I am going to put the chicks out side today tho. Going to build another coop/pen today.

A great aunt! That must be exciting. I took my granddaughter to see Elmo at the BOK center Thursday night and the look on her face when all the Elmo came on stage was priceless. She is only 2 yrs old but just loved it.
