Hey ya'll...did you guys miss me at all? Please say yes!!
My laptop power cord was frayed and not working and I'm toooo lazy to sit in the dining room on the desktop, so I"ve been off the puter for a day or so. Luckily, my amazing husband worked his wonders with the electrical cord and got it working again, thanks to brains and electrical tape. I'm all set again.
I candled my eggs, yes *again* and let the girls see them this time. I'm still shocked that 5 of m 6 Pekin eggs (from my own ducks) are developing so well, given that one of those 5 was refrigerated....I can see the little ducklings just moving all over the place in the eggs. Of the 6 Welsummer chicken eggs I had shipped to me, I think only 2 of them are still developing...
I so want to get a good flock of welsummers going..
Would anyone be interested in Pekin duck hatching eggs for POOPS? My duck is laying an egg a day and right now she has collected about 6 in a nest...I"m waiting to see if she starts to sit on them or not. If she is still laying around POOPS, I'll bring some with me...
Speaking of POOPS, I need to make my tent site reservations. Ive talked my mom and dad into coming with us...mom has a few hens of her own and dad says he'll come to camp as long as he doesn't have any chickens in his tent...LOL. He's a retired Navy man and will probably get along with many of you guys. He'll probably go home wanting to build a bator for my mom. He works as an appliance repair guy for Sears now, so I'm sure he has a ton of parts laying around that he can whip a bator together from. They live in Stroud. You can change my number for POOPS from 4 to 6.
Hubby is still hurting, but went to class last night and this morning. They were going to the shooting range today for pistol shooting and shotgun shooting and he didn't want to miss it. I think he was hurting more when he came home.
We set up the tent in the front yard today, and the girls are sleeping in it tonight..at least I'll have it figured out for POOPS. We grilled out tonight: Steaks, burgers and hot dogs....pasta salad, bush's baked beans, and corn on the cob.....amazing dinner.
