Okies in the BYC The Original

I am studying to be an RN.. working my butt off actually. I have about 2 more years or 18 months depending on what I decide I want to specalize in. This stuff is hard work.

Besides reading up on all the chicken stuff I always have some test, paper, or lab to do.

This is sooo sad. Last night I was up until 2:00 studying. I got up at 6:00 for my 8:00am class. I went out to feed and water the babies. I took my kids to school and came home after class and checked on the birds, of course the water was gross. So, I picked it up and I had a baby under the water. I sat the water down on the little girl and didn't even notice. I cried, I cannot believe that I was so hasty I missed the baby. OH man, I need to slow down and turn the lights on. I was trying to do it by the light of the brooder... wow I'm so sad. She was only 2 weeks and it was a gallon waterer

...wanna write a paper for me anyway? It is a case study diagnosis, theory, type deal...psychology thing...you know you want to! I will cut something up for you! Or take a test...I like tests...hate papers

Where did everybody go? I think I will be needing a OEGB BB-red rooster. Mine was looking rough last night. Looking for show stock on this one. Stupid birds! Why is it that the good ones always get sick or carried off by owls? Bother the layer mutts...no...they are to accesable!

You guys are great... She does this every year I guess. I was going to get some chicks at that show thats way down south Oklahoma and I told her I would pick up some eggs for her as well. We had bad weather and didnt go so now Im trying to come up with a back up plan. I will talk with her tomorrow. I am going to take in some of my chicks for that first week.
Can I buy just a few eggs at Auctions or a dozen at a time ?
I will let you know what tomorrow brings....

Hey Al...Looking good there! Aren't they amazing....God is awesome!

Teach are ya freezing your buns off up there...? They are saying 23 for us tonight....And then this lovely 40 mph breeze...I'm worried about the peeps....The have their Mom and a heat lamp....If something happened to them I would cry.

Speaking of which Andis....sorry about your baby.... I killed my pet cockatiel that I had had for four years. He was sick and i gave him oral antibiotics and I drowned him... not sure how...but he died in my hand in like 20 seconds... I still cry whenever I think about it.... It was awful.... then like 2 weeks later I had to have my "best ever" dog put to sleep....then 2 cats a month after that.... I didn't think I was going to live through it..... It was about 6 months after we moved here and all kinds of stuff was going on.... I kept thinking about my great grandma who got land in the land run....Just gotta soldier on... even if you're bawling while your trudging....hang in there...
