I agree with Grey Bear - the banana pudding was outstanding - even though I just got a taste from the spoonful I scraped around the edges of the dish.

Of course, there were a number of other dishes that were also wonderful - the tabouli, all the meat, the homemade bread...... I probably need a smiling face of someone's stomach expanding rapidly.

Also, thank you nnbreeder for NPIP testing my rooster. I am so happy to be able to put him in with the rest of the flock, instead of keeping him in quarantine.

I enjoyed visiting with you about your turkey project. I hope you will keep us informed about how it goes. Glad you made it home safely - however much longer it took to get home than it took you to get to POOPS

Okay I'm home from POOPS! Man, what a blast. The food was incredible. (How did I miss the banana pudding??!!)

Stray - your EEs are the ones raised and hatched by Mhaines - he was kind enough to donate them to POOPS even though he couldn't come. I picked them up this morning (yesterday morning?) along with the White Rock hatching eggs that went into the silent auction.

Andisgarden - Bigokie told me your bantam is a white black-tailed japanese. She rode to POOPS on my lap this morning - she even helped me drive by perching on the steering wheel at 6:00. She is a very sweet little bird! Huntermett took her home - they have a roo of the same breed.

Sred98 - Poultry&Bees gave me a big bag of dust for you!

I learned a LOT - about deer (what a spike is), and tiny baby possums (they're kind of cute...okay not really), and tiny baby rattlesnakes (not cute at all), and I saw ALL KINDS of really beautiful poultry of every type and size - and I even got a lesson in how to AI chickens. Awesome.

I must say, our BYC Okies are a stellar group! It was a privilege to meet you all and I truly look forward to the next POOPS.

Gerald and I had an absolute blast at POOPS and we are definitely POOPED! I think maybe we should bring less to sell next time. I didn't have a chance to visit with everyone, except for quite a few people that did buy some birds and/or eggs. Thanks to everyone that did!

I really wish we had had more time to spend at POOPS. We intended to get there sooner and stay longer, but when I heard that several members were going to the Jones auction and we still had some birds left for sale .... I just couldn't resist. I'm so weak when it comes to auctions

Anyway, we sold every one of our birds that we took with us, and then we wound up buying 8 1/2 dozen hatching eggs and 5 silver sebrights and 3 blue splash marans pullets. Oh my ... we were downsizing!!!! Now my 2 cabinet incubators are totally full!

BigOkie, so sorry to here of your flat tire on the way home, but you sure did good at the Jones auction. There were definitely some really good bargains. Especially those pigs you got! Now you're going to be hooked on driving all the way to Jones Oklahoma twice a month for an auction!

Gerald sure got a kick out of selling chicks today ... especially getting Maribeth to buy for her grandson, Jaxon! He mentioned that several times

Donna, did you get home ok with all your eggs and birds? The chicken bug has really bit you! You bought more hatching eggs at the Jones auction than we did

OK, I'm so wore out that I can't think of anything else to say tonight. Except, that it really, REALLY was fun at POOPS. It was perfect! Fantastic Okies! The weather was great, the food was awesome, great location, and the people that did the work to put this event on are to be commended. Ya'll are the BEST!

I've never shipped live birds, but Gerald and I have talked to the postal employees at the Oklahoma City Airport Post Office and we asked about shipping live birds just for curiosity. They said they'll only accept live birds for shipping Mondays thru Thursdays. If I remember correctly, it's because they don't want live birds sitting in a post office somewhere over the weekend.

Good morning, Okies
I am up, getting ready to gather some rabbits for Teach to take back to the Panhandle, for friends of his. They want them for pets, so they are getting a colorful assortment.

Carla - I have to say that Gerald is quite the salesman when it comes to the birds.

Of course, since you have such nice birds it wasn't a difficult decision to take home a variety of them.

I really wish we had gone ahead and bought the duck eggs that BigOkie was selling, or at least a couple of his ducks. Despite buying 7 runners yesterday from Chickensandmore, Jaxon is convinced that we needed "baby" ducks. DH, who has always expressed a distaste for ducks in the past because of not wanting them to foul up the stock tanks, promised a tearful Jaxon last night that PaPa would buy him a baby duck today.....somewhere.

Does anyone with a NPIP flock who is within a 30 mile radius of OKC have newly hatched ducks for sale? (preferably of a variety that doesn't want to swim in stock tanks)

Good Morning everyone!

I am sure most of us are still recovering from the good time we had at POOPS! I had a great time! Friday night was a nice little crowd that let me get my feet wet keeping up with the names. Not that it did a bit of good come Sat!! I had a great time! I may not remember all the names but I met some great people, some of you I'd even like to see again (haha kidding).

Al, Monty, Teach & Graceful, Kuddo's to you all for all the planning and list you kept up with to make this all come together!! Everyone that helped set up and clean up, you were the best! I had a good time getting to know you!! I have to say there was more food than we could eat, you peeps that didn't come really missed out! I missed the nanna pudding too, I was too full after all the ribs, ham and brisket I ate.

I could go on and on about the different people that I met but then I would forget someone and I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. Everyone know that I learned alot for all of you! Thanks to OKCarla for the birds and eggs. Next year I will have my pen's ready so I can really buy stuff!

I took alot of pic's yesterday and would love to share them, if there is anyone that does NOT want there pic posted please let me know.
