Just saw these pheasants on Craigslist.

They are in North Texas. Anyone want to take a road trip?

Henny - it wasn't honey from my hives - but I buy it a case at a time from a beekeeper in Noble. I like it because the flavor is great and it starts getting solid pretty soon after I get it. I like it thick because it doesn't fall off my toast that way. You can always re-liquify honey by putting the jar in a pan of hot water on the stove, or by microwaving it - no longer than one minute at a time. Of course in Oklahoma, a good way to re-liquify it is to put the jar in your car with the windows closed on a summer day.

Ok got ya you would only have to make one stop this way tho, i do have some of the honey and it is to DIE for. But one problem I see, Lynn would probably be at the door like..............you not takin my biscuits. I would have to calm the beast down and sneak ya some out.

HenniesPennies, im waiting, ill put on a pot of coffee. I dont do tea but can make it pretty well i guess.

I think i gotta take back those hatching vibes i sent out. Out of 2 dozen eggs (1 dozen br bantam and blue orp bantam) i got 7 eggs left. Im hoping the ones still kicking are blue orps lol. I just candled (day 7) 1 was a quiter and 2 where blood rings. I did get word im getting a dozen blue orp lf mailed to me tommarow so im hoping they arrive in one peace, and a few serama and dutch eggs thrown in.

Poultryandbees - LOL, LOL, LOL, - so much for that list of
"stuff" that Pa-Pa was gonna gather up to trade you for some
of your honey.......LOL But, do hang onto a quart of it for
when we see you in June at the NPIP deal. I don't do sweets,
but he and TJ LOVE honey !

And PB&J - ????? - Nobody does homemade Pomegranate?.....
or Cherry Almond?????.....if you like marachino cherries, you'd
love it !!!!! There's a story that goes with that one........
I have been involved in a "home canning" forum for several
years. One of our members was making "Cherry/Almond Jam"...
OK.....but the discussion was....why can't we make cherry/
almond jelly? OK, so worked on that one for about a week around
here....duh.....the alcohol in the almond extract craps out the
surejell............so.....boiled the almond extract in just 1 cup of
the cherry juice to boil off the alcohol and then proceeded with
the jelly........Worked like a charm.......The rest of the story..........
One of the forum members in Texas took that stuff to the
Texas State Fair and won the whole shabang for "Best of
Show" with her Cherry/Almond Jelly.....Gees, that was back in
2001.....LOL

Ronnie - If you don't have to stop along the way for a window
that "someone" forgot to lock on a camper, or "I gotta go"......
it's about 2 1/2 hours from here.....if you go to Muskogee and
then south to Checotah, then west on I-40.............But.....
all that "stuff" is part of the adventure.........LOL

Have a good one !

wow stray, i think i said that over a month ago, you must be getting caught up on the all the hooha posting. Some how i also forgot to mention GB in that posting lol. As it turns out alot of the people not being big on bantams forgot they had just aquired a few at poops lol.

We went through the Wildlife Permit "stuff" a few years back
when Pa-Pa decided that we needed pheasants, quail,
chuckars, etc. You couldn't run fast enough to give me another
ring-neck. But, the Melanistic Mutants are beautiful, fairly
gentle birds and the Jumbo Whites weren't too bad. But, the
ring-necks were the most flighty-frightful birds I have ever
been around.

Have a good one !

I would do a serpate coop. Ive got a little bantam cochin hen who my roo's almost bred to death i swear. After she hatches the eggs out she is sittin on she is coming out of that coop and in another.

If they are all young birds and not like NNbreeder said an already established flock you can keep them together for quite a while. But when the roos start riding the hens id seperate.
