Hi I've been a lurker for awhile now and it was suggested I just jump in and introduce my self on the BYC thread. My name is John and I go by KellysFarm. I have 16 acres just 5 miles from the Bartlesville city limits. I have chickens, Honeybees, Babydoll sheep and Dexter cattle. I am retired so it keeps me busy.

I will mention that to Damon tomorrow when I see him. The last auction was 89er weekend so that really thinned crowds out. But things sold fairly well over all. My MIL sold a pet rabbit for 37 dollars! Got about ten out of the other two that she brought. And as usual hens sold high but roosters were selling fairly good too.

Welcome to BYC and the Okies thread. I'm sure we have members near you. With a critter list like that you will fit right in! Most have gone to bed already but you can be sure that things will be hopping tomorrow as usual. Gotta head that way myself so I can function tomorrow.

Good Morning all

Didnt get much accomplished yesterday. Been kinda down, turning a year older tomorrow is hitting hard. Kinda same way when i turned the big 40. Oh well just another year I guess.

Jersey giants, well I just love them, they are very very docile, a little ruff on the hens, I have BBS giants. And from the article I read a little on that Monty posted mine must have 2 blue genes. Mine are pulling off BBS chicks. My girls are right at a year old and have been laying since February. And I am getting 6 eggs a week for all my girls. I can not be positive, but I think these JG's came from Maria here on BYC. I also have another line that are from eggbid, I would have to get to my email to find out the line. I had 3 hatch and lost one of the black. I have a blue and a black from this line. I also have one black hen from Carla.

I have 2 blue and 1 black rooster, was going to sell one of the blues but I think I have decided against it now. I have 3 black hens and 1 lav hen that are laying. 2 black and 1 blue coming on 4-6 months old. Then i got 2 chicks from Beth's lil one at POOPS. I also have about 30 or so chicks that are BBS. If I were to just do one type of bird(which I just can't) it would be the Giants.

Still a muddy mess in the coop, Carla your coop looks dry compared to mine. Trying to convince Lynn we really need to tear it down and move it to higher ground. Heck all it is is a few hundred screws and a bunch of zip ties. Not a problem. We could make 4 smaller pens out of that big one and then have our chickens all separate.
