I just got my pens unloaded.......... and just in time. I have chickens comming out my ears and had no where to put them. they are 4X8 and 5 ft high with 1/2 covered with tin. Just right to keep breeders in. They will be full tomorrow. lol

I was just out in my shop changing water and feeding babies and the rain was so loud it was deafening in the tin building. It seems to have let up alot in the last little bit. Earlier was a nice lightning/thunder/rain performance. This is the 2nd storm weve had today.

Sorry to hear so many Okies are having thunderstorms today. I know we're lucky to have missed them. Maybe a few of my pens will dry out before the next rain. Gosh, on the radar now it looks like a really mean thunderstorm is hitting the Durant area. I hope everyone around there is OK. Grace? I hope all is well there.

I guess I need to coax Gerald into helping me bring my newly aquired GQF hatcher in the house & set it up. I need to hurry & get it going .... got eggs due to hatch on Monday! If I can't get it going before then, it looks like they've got to hatch in the regular incubator.

Gerald is taking his army truck to a parade in Del City Saturday morning. He keeps saying I have to go with him. I need to get birds & eggs ready for the Jones auction though

Evening everyone! Has anyone heard from slightly cracked??

The rain hit hard here but seems to have passed for the moment, there is more coming. I only got alittle wet running outside to close the chicks in so they would stay dry.

TJ's Nana, be sure to tell Bill that I was sure thanking him for the cedar shavings this evening. Any chance that he gets them around here????

Sorry was gone for a few, Ronnie it's just like changing the wafer in a hovabator and Atwoods or even your feed store may have them. Buy two or more just in case.

The wafer just unscrews off of the end of the threaded shaft and then you screw the new one back on. While off take and manually work the micro-switch that the wafer contacts to make sure it is working. There is a tiny bump on the black switch that should go in and out.

Evening all. Sounds like you all are getting bad weather too. We had funnel clouds over town this afternoon. More storms comming in. Had 10 little ducks hatch under their mama.

I had to take them away because the pen is so wet and muddy. Also had another hen (chicken) hatch out some belgian quailand silkies.
Loaded up cages tonite with stuff going to an auction tomorrow morning.
And just got back from the movies. All you Trekkie fans have got to go see the new star Trek. Aye Aye! Captian. Beam me up Soctty! It was awesome!

Hello Everyone! Long time no been on BYC but I have been getting my place ready for my two llamas and today is the day my boys came home. Yes, I am now a llama mama. Happy Mother's Day to me. hehehe

The birds are not sure what to make of the llamas and the llamas are so curious it is kinda freaking them all out (cats included).

Later I will explain why I got llamas. Since everyone here is free range they will have to get used to sharing space.

Funny you should be talking about pens. On Craigslist there is this guy in Guthrie who has these cool pens that he is selling for I believe $75. They are pretty big so you would probably need a trailer to haul them but they look sturdy and fairly nice. Here is the link. http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/grd/1152346949.html

nnb, Hi, was that a cool site or what, I really like it, corse I like Game Fowl, some nice pics though, you should post some, had some of my Game chicks hatch, Claret, Hatch, Law grey/ Hatch, Silver Bars and Tarbabies, have some Blue Spanish and Blue Game (Minor cross) on the way! Can't wait till they get bigger, actually I need to get pens built before they get bigger!!! LOL, Lynn
