Although I have heard they are highly accurate in their aim, we have been fortunate not to be blessed with having any directed at us in the 3 years we have had llamas. I have seen our two girls in the city spit a little bit at each other, when trying to establish control over their feeder. Of course those two are so spoiled that they would really prefer that a person hold a bucket in each hand, at about chest hight so the llamas don't have to bend over so far, while they eat from their own buckets.

NNbreeder - (quote) I have some bantam RIRs that I paid 110.00 for two pairs and the shipping from tx. was 55.00. But from some of the country's top lines

And, .......what are you saying???? You want to sell the birds????
How old are they? Have you gotten a chick out of them?

Tried to just do a "quote" deal....don't know what is going on.....

Have a good one !

Muesky - just a word of caution on your new llamas. They are very susceptible to heat stoke. We lost two last summer to heat stoke after we moved them from the lake property to OKC. We have a pond the llamas wade into when it gets hot, on our property in Eastern Oklahoma. We didn't realize until the ones in OKC had suffered heat stroke that we should have sheared them around the barrel of their body, provided a place for them to get wet in addition to the shade they had and put a fan where they could sit in front of it when it was so hot in July.

Hey, Thanks NN.....am soooo glad to know that
Slightlycracked and her family are OK.

Looks like we're in the clear except for South of Ft. Smith down
the state line.

Take care, Arkansas..............

No I don't want to get rid of them. you see they are a female line of birds and Teva, my wife, has some birds that are male lines. Same basic bloodline but from two different breeders.

They were talking about what birds go for so I thought I would tell what I paid for these. Although Teva didn't have shipping on hers and paid less for hers to boot!

Hi Les,
, I know you said you were gonna talk to Damon at Jones.
I had been meaning to tell him if he would move his auctions to the first and third weekends, I think they would do better.
Heck if he just had one a month . I hate to see it close becaus it is close to me.
This is the third auction close to me that has closed in the last three years.
Sweet talk him into keeping it open.

The birds are not sure what to make of the llamas and the llamas are so curious it is kinda freaking them all out (cats included).

Later I will explain why I got llamas. Since everyone here is free range they will have to get used to sharing space.

Funny you should be talking about pens. On Craigslist there is this guy in Guthrie who has these cool pens that he is selling for I believe $75. They are pretty big so you would probably need a trailer to haul them but they look sturdy and fairly nice. Here is the link. http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/grd/1152346949.html
This guy has been selling them for quite a while and seems to have a lot of them.
Hope this helps

That is where I got them. Robert and bought the last 7 he had. I would have got more. They are nice, just wish I had found them a little earlier. He had a ton of them to start with.

The weather didn't treat us to bad last night,Just about Midnight we got hit with buckets of rain and some wind, but not as bad as a week or so ago..anyway looking out the window all the pens look in tack, and I don't see any birds out..
Thanks all for keeping a check on all of us over here..course a couple more days of the sun would have been nice..I got a new mower but haven't used it on my place yet..when I was unloading it a couple of older friends ask if I would do their lawns with all the rain it had gotten way higher than they could handle..so while it was dry I did theirs and now it's wet again and I can't do mine..

see how Carma works I should have been thinking about them all along and not myself

Don - glad you didn't have more problems with the weather.
I had to smile when I saw that you got a new mower and wanted to try it out. My husband regularly mows our elderly neighbor's yard, the yard for a neighbor serving overseas, and our son's yard, in addition to yards for some neighbors when their yards get out of control. With the "new to him" John Deere mower he got last year he is happy to help them. He wanted to mow everyone's yards yesterday, and was able to do a couple of them, but it was too wet to mow our yard. I think that he was just glad to be doing ANY mowing yesterday. We still have water standing in the ditches. By the time it drys out enough to mow, some folks around here are going to need their yards brush hogged instead of mowed.
