We really aren't that far from Jones, I will miss the poultry auction there.
Hubby came by on his way home from the 11yr old grandson's baseball tournament in Edmond and took the 10 bags of shavings home with him. They barely fit into the trunk and the back seat of the car.
Chiclooker and Oldmotherhen helped me load the cages into the van. The pet carrier that arrived in Jones with chickens, went home inside the dog crate that transported the chocolate tom. The crate that transported the turkey hen to Jones went home with hatching eggs, and some beekeeper stuff that was already in the van, inside of the crate. The rabbit went home in a small pet carrier that took a rooster to Jones and all the cages were stacked liked puzzle pieces in the back of the van on top of the crates and in the middle seat. I actually could have taken at least 5 bags of the shavings home in the van, since there was still room in the middle seat and the front seat.
I love the challenge of packing the van when I go to an auction.
Somebody is going to fill their incubator up soon, huh?
Congratulations on your packing job. I sure hope everyone else makes it home OK with all their winnings.
Chiclooker's truck was full, but all their treasures were inside the truck bed. They were loaded and then helped me load.
We talked to the seller of the white plastic crates and learned that more are available - plus he will deliver them to the Blanchard auction. I also got to meet the auctioneer at Blanchard, while standing in line to pay out and got a card with the information about their auction. Hopefully, we will be in town so I can make the Blanchard auction on May 23.
It was wonderful to talk to everyone this evening and see all the POOPS T-shirts. Luvs2garden was patting herself on the back because she was going home without buying anything.
Some of the cages that I paid only $1 - 4 for are going to come in handy for those times I want to send someone home with birds and don't want to have to worry about getting my cage back anytime soon.
