Don, DH feels the same as you. I am the one who always at least gives him a hug and thanks him for serving. He always responds with "there was no other choice". And that then is the end of our conversation. I respect him.

My dad did 2 tours in Vietnam, my grandfather fought in WW2.....I think the good thing about Veterans day is that it helps people to remember the guys that are over there right now...the active ones. And to remember the ones that didn't make it home from any war.
It's also a good excuse for banker's to have a holiday...lol.

Thank You to all the vets. My dad was in the Air Force for 15 years. My son-in-law was a Marine for two tours in Iraq. I'm proud and thankful for their service. I also thank all the families of the men and women who serve.

Hey guys!! How's all the okie peeps? I am having a high day... worked with hubby in the yard, and then on my coop addition. Had some SNAFUS but hubby took it all in stride... now we have it all done but the inside!! My hubby is the best!! Having a rough time at work, and is a little grumpy, but still manages to take care of me, Maw and the hens. Mr. and Mrs. Squeaky are about to get a new home! YAY!

Country... your prof sounds a little flaky... maybe too much weed in the 60s? lol... Don't get him ticked...

Don, I appreciate your views on service. I think it is just amazing to us everyday folks at home that someone would be willing to go do that. I know some of ya say that ya didn't have a choice... but I think we've seen enough draft dodgers to know... there's always a choice. You guys just had the personal integrity to suck it up and do it. I think it's harder when you're drafted... Just want you to know that there are some people who think you are pretty special for keeping watch on the wall for us.

Well gotta go wash off all the southwest Oklahoma that's on me. (and up my dang nose) I think it's gonna be an Darvocet night too! I'm gonna miss summer!!

Personally, I look back on my time in the Marines with great pride. The Corps was my first job. I had to get my mom's permission to enlist when I was 17 years old and I grew up in boot camp. I still credit my drill instructors with teaching me what responsibility means.

I still enjoy gathering with any and all others who wore the eagle, globe and anchor and swapping war stories. And I still celebrate the Marine Corps birthday every November 10th. It's good to be one of the few and the proud.

Ok, I havent been to Jones, or Blanchard so this may not apply at all to those, but is anyone else noticing the low selling an buying at auction. Normally this tends to be the time when people are looking to get rid of birds, yet it seems as if every auction I go to the number of birds, and buyers is down. Are Jones and Blanchard fairing ok, maybe I should make a trip that way if there are still good hens, or turkeys to be found.

But here's the funny thing about it all, this class is a COMPUTER PROGRAMMING class.

I went to my advisor, who has a major part in the university's Computer program. He was not happy, and will be helping me take the next course online through another university. One incident would've been tolerable, but this is at least the 5th time he's done something like this.

I think Henny's right about my professor...

At the last Jones auction Teva, my wife bougt a nice Saipan rooster. He was in a smallish cage and traveled home is a smallish cage too. We never saw him standing till the next morning. Here he is looking eye to eye with full grown turkeys, and that dog house to his right? well he can just hop on top of it with no assistance from his wings. Here two he is wooing the banny hens in the next pen.

And Carla here is a pic of the NN rooster that she bought the time before. Remember each of the square on the wire is four inches and there is a 1x4 on the bottom. He is a big boy!
