We are really excited about going to the Shawnee Poultry Show on Saturday. We should be there around 11 am and will bring chicks to some BYC Okies.

We still have several turken and silkie chicks... just $2 ea. We could also bring a few tom turkeys if anyone is interested. We still have extra Bourbon Red, Narragansett and Royal Palm toms for $25 ea.

If I can find it, I'll wear my yellow Chillin with my Peeps t-shirt.

I sure hope to see lots of ya'll there!!!!!

Juliebee, I was going to introduce myself, but Monty beat me to it! *haha* We do have a really cool Festival of Light And someone spent alot time decorating my house.. *ahem* ME. *ha* As far as finding land, you shouldn't have too much trouble. We have cattle ourselves. What business would bring you this way???

Has anyone else wondered why Mapquest can't ever 'locate' the stinkin Expo Center in Shawnee!? But the directions the website gives should be easy enough, especially not having to drive through fog like last year...

I should be in bed getting ready for the 3 hour drive to Shawnee tomorrow morning BUUUTTT!!!........I am just to darn excited

All I could find was a yellow legal pad to make my name tag out of so that will have to work. I thought about putting one on the kiddo saying "A Slightly Cracked Kid" and on the hubby saying "I am married to Slightly Cracked" but maybe that is overkill.

Do you happen to have any kids interested in poultry? I also teach the 4-H poultry club for our county, and we meet in the Community Building on the first Tuesday of each month

We also got some jersey giants, silkies and and some egyptians.

My son found a Modern Game pair fell in love and made a deal with the guy. Nice, nice gentleman named James Miller, he took a lot of time with Shaun and explained what to look for and how to prepare them for show. He also told him if he was interested in raising modern's to contact him and he would help him get started!! Really cool!!

I picked up a trio of black bantam wyandottes. Cute Cute Cute!!!

Hey Grace,

I remember meeting you at the fair this year. My daughters had a couple of ducks entered. They are in the Bryan County 4-H Club. At this point, we aren't active besides the fair. I'd come to the 4-H meetings but I have another meeting on the first Tuesday of the month at 7 pm. What time do you hold the meetings for 4-H? We are preparing our birds for next year's fair at any rate. We have several pair of chickens that weren't ready this year.

It's such a small world!

We had a blast at the Shawnee Poultry Show! I was glad to meet Teresa and Neecy and see Terra, Les & Teva, Grace and Cammie again. I wish we could have stayed longer but we decided to check out the Blanchard auction on our way home. We got to see more fellow Okies, Kasi and Misti & their hubbies at the Blanchard auction. What a great day!

And we even got home in time to watch the Heisman Trophy Presentation on TV .... so exciting to see Sam Bradford win!!!! BOOMER SOONER!
