Here is that dozen with one egg replaced with a regular brown egg for comparison

Stimp,
Since this is in your back yard, can we all stay at your place?

Yeah, but if you wake up my wife, she'll put a dent in your noggin.

I swear, next time I get married ... I'm gonna marry one I can whup.

Graceful - them are some cool eggs...I was impressed and in awe of EE's and the colors but I swear if there is a bantam of them I'm gonna have to throw something out and get some...anybody need a couple kids or a mean chicken hating wife that can whup you?

Grace,
Those are some very nice eggs. They look more like Marans. I have never seen Welsummer eggs that dark. Great job. You should have bought another ten dozen.
You will be showing Welsummers next year.

Okay, thanks.... we could do both... lower dollar items on a raffle, higher dollar items on a silent auction

Back at you, and I just remembered something so I'm sending you an add on.

Okay, I will put that down in my suggestion notebook - "auctions pose risk of death"

There is no risk as long as you understand one simple rule...Teach gets to WIN!

Forgot to add that earlier someone had asked what mash was I answered them and then some folks told some other stuff and then someone goes off and said that I was the only one that had a clue! I had to show my wife! She doesn't believe anyone would agree with me or that I might be correct! Guess running hog barns and operating a feedmill did give me a little knowledge!

I vote Lexington. I think a special auction with the event might be a neat touch...

Thanks

I don't know too much about Wellies, but these were darker than the Marans eggs at the auction, and I thought they looked pretty great. I will most likely get a few more dozen if they have them next time

POOPS

OK, my vote is also with Lexington if Jim really is willing to allow us to have it at his place for free. I think we might want to reimburse him in some way for his generosity .... maybe with some raffle money going to him? His auction barn has a concrete floor, if he's allowing us to meet in there ... with bleachers & chairs. Also, there's one toilet in the barn.

I'll donate chicks, eggs or something bird related to a raffle.
