I promise not to be jealous as long as you come to the Okie POOPS meeting and bring your excess to sell!

in case you didn't get my last message, my chinese painted quail (buttons) started hatching today. It's day 16 which they are supposed to hatch 16-18 days. I have 8 more to go. I have my fingers crossed. They are supposed to start laying at 6 to 8 weeks. Oh wow, I COULD have some laying by POOPS. That's quick!

My baby is tiny. Did I mention it is tiny? It is so tiny... The poor thing keeps cheeping while waiting on everyone else to break out. It's my VERY FIRST incubated baby ever. I'm so excited.

You are first on my list when they grow up to get eggs!

How did your inbox get full? You are a honorary "Gold Feather" holder.

I did that in the fall....when I wormed. Let all chickens out and thought I could just grab and toss back into the run when I did each one... Grab and Toss did NOT work! It was run a mile.... grab a chicken... sit on bench and recover.... worm....crawl to run and throw chicken in. Then chase the THREE chickens I let back out... repeat. I called Hubby and told him if I had a heart attack, blame it on hens and remember I loved him. Dang clusterflop took about 4 hours... with me jogging around after birds most of the time. Boy... was I ticked. I would have gladly chopped all their heads off and left the bodies in a pile if I'd a had an implement of destruction at the time. It woulda looked a little funny... me beatin' em to death with a grass rake... the only thing that saved em was I didn't think of it at the time. I have a neighbor that supposedly gawks at us with binoculars....hmph...gave her a story to tell. What a scene.

I technicaly have 7 but one looks like it wont make it, 6 healthy and happy birds are brooding with some older cochins and some much older Silkies. One of the 7 seemed to have something hanging out of the navel and perhaps came out to soon. One died in shell. I think 6 out of 8 is great for a first try. I learned an absolute ton with this test hatch, wich was the purpose. Thanks for asking, i now have an addiction to hatching eggs lol.

I was wanting to go to Idabel, but I have no place to crash and don't want to get a hotel.

Oh well. I guess I "could" have one of my friends take my birds for me...but I'd hate to do that...

If you emailed me too, I sure didn't get it. Oh well, no harm - no fowl.

He's still out running in the yard and terrorizing hens.

Well if you want to meet up before Idabel we can do that or just wait. I'm pretty open. Poor guy will have to come here and terrorize the dog!!

As a newbie I am completely umm goofy we'll say when it comes to shows. We are bringing 3 Bantams to this thing but I have no idea about the NPIP testing. Do I need to maybe go down to the OSU Extension Center here or do they do testing there?
