We didn't meet, my BF took some birds up there for me but he was a bit late.

Did you want eggs or chicks? I could only hatch a few by that time since my darling hens aren't all laying yet.

Eggs will be fine, I could come pick them up If that would be OK

Boy, there is a lot of bator talk today. I got a hold of a commercial refrigerator with double glass doors. I'm in the process of working it. I've started a page and plan to add many pictures as I convert.

https://www.backyardchickens.com/web/viewblog.php?id=19514-homemade-incubator

It's just the start picture but I believe it will be a sweet bator in the end. I posted an ad on Freecycle to get the refrigerator. The guy who answered the ad was just a few miles from me. How convenient. I have perused the homemade bator contests to get many ideas. I'm really looking forward to doing this.

Gosh, Don - that'd be a 2 hour or so drive!

They're not "pure" yet. I'm setting up my pen this weekend - so in about three weeks they'll be ready.

28 more pages just to catch up. I know you all can think of something to chat about.

I got a duck egg yesterday. Getting about 19 chicken eggs a day now. Not sure how many chickens I have just yet. Will know when NPIP happens on the 3rd. Got my daughter to be here so there will be DH DD me and 2 testers. Gonna get it all done in one swoop. Tested, banded and in separated. DH built me 2 coops this week so will have a total of 7.

that is all that matters. Last year I had over 300 chickens. Some went to chicken heaven (long story) some got sold off, some where to stupid to go to bed at night and either ended up bobcat or owl puke. So probably down to about 100 with probably 25 or so of them Roo's. I have decided which ones I want to keep now So am going to make a bachelor pad for the ones that will be freezer tagged. If anyone is interested in a couple Jersey Giant roos let me know. They are right at 8 months old.

so I guess my OEGB will stay on strike for a bit longer...they are very picky!

Hope you get as nice of a guy as I did at your bleeding party! I didn't take near as long as I thought! Plus we didn't have to do all the quail! I was afraid since they mature so quickly that they would want to do more of them...but they stuck with the whatever month age it was! That cut out like 150 birds!!

Did you know that they classify the coturnix as upland game birds! I thought it was funny...

WoHo! I'm on the road back to Oklahoma! In between Manphis and Little Rock. Looks like spring is about three weeks ahead of us here. Lots of blooming thins.Watching for geese in the rice fields but haven't seen any yet. Headed to West Siloam Springs area tonite and pick up daughter and then on to Sand Springs on Sat. Hopeing Attwoods has their baby chicks in. May have to take some back to Tennessee!
