So that means I'm picking up Teach's birds and bringing them to you?

Yes if it's not to much trouble, I have been working on this project for over a month and I keep telling her that as soon as the weather gives us a couple of good days.. Well she watches the weather forcast every night and I was informed that this was the weekend, before the spring rains come.. Then I will feed and care for the birds and get them to Teach at the meet up..

OK, wanted to know that we know for sure what we're
doing...back to the age/IQ syndrome....

So, Cuban Longtails is picking up Teach's Utility King Pigeons
at Pryor Saturday. Don, do you still want a pair, too? Will
you be bringing cages to put them in, or do we need to bring
a couple of boxes? I'll make up a tag that says BYC Forum,
TJ's Na-Na. Bill (Bailey) will be easy to pick put.....He's 6'4", will be
leaning on his walking stick "yacking" with whoever happens
to be near, and is missing his right hand. I figure TJ will be
moving so fast, no point in trying to catch him.

See ya Saturday. Have a good one !

Yup it is a pair...and if they have any between you getting them and the swap...the squab is yours! Aren't you gonna get a pair? Everyone needs a few more pigeons! Well not according to my wife but she is being a fun hater!

I'll let everyone know where to send it. My wife has paypal for doing ebay stuff so that should work out. I just need to talk to her about how to do it. I am not a very bright fellow.
I'll post more later.

Just in conversation....LOL....mentioned to Pa-Pa that this
swap meet deal was going to be held at a KOA campground
now.....just on the outskirts of OKC. And, went ahead and
mentioned that I'd bet that my cousin's son would bring the
new baby out there by then so I could see him.....and that
I "wondered" if the Cowboy Hall of Fame would be open on
Sunday afternoon so that we could take the kids to see it
on the way home.......................... Yup, "sometimes" there's
method to my madness. So far, the only response I've gotten
was, "oh really".

He's still taking the traction therapy, hoping to ward off
surgery, so............... But, if you don't plant the seed, you ain't
gonna get squat.................... Still looks doubtful, but sure
sounds like fun. Will be watching for details.

Have a good one !

Okay, what size boxes do I need to bring? I only have stuff for chickens, not small birds. Well... I take that back. I just remembered I have a small carrier that will hold birds. I think it'll be big enough for all of the pigeons.

No problem on the bantam shamo, I have a shipping box I can put him in.

You never should have admitted to that Ronnie...

They are gonna get you for that!

Well i will be gone for a day or so! If anyone is near Woodward stop in at the fair grounds. We will be with the goats! Easy to spot us...look for a really good looking guy and a little guy that looks just like him!

For those in the Durant area (Grace), Orschelin's should be getting a new shipment of chicks every Thursday or Friday.

I've got 6 eggs in the hatching bator right now. One of my little Styrofoam bators has been varying in temp too much. So I need hatching vibes to spite my bator. Thats why I'm working on the homemade bator. Hopefully, soon I will have some of my own chicks but until then Orschelin's and the auction will have to supply my fix.

I'm testing temps on the homemade bator so hopefully it will be going soon and I won't have to mess with the little ones.

But then I will be tempted to fill the big one...

I 'only' have read through page 611 so far... I'll finish in a bit

Carla, I am sorry about the wet-ish hatch
sad.png

Sherri, I haven't had a single chick hatch
sad.png
I think it is because I started this incubator a month or two earlier than I ever have before and with it being in the shop it just got too cold. (I'm hoping to get permission to bring it inside in time for the next batch, because I got a perfect little area ready for it

)

Ronnie, I hope you feel better soon!

It basically is, but you have to consider this: If the bird has curled tail feathers then yes, it is a male. But, if it does not have curled tail feathers that does not mean it is a female because it could just not have them temporarily because of molting, an accident, or from being too young.

Congratulations you Okies, on keeping up with and even passing Kentucky

Monty, I'm glad we have a concrete place set for the CS. I will have to look up how far away it is, but we should still be able to make it.
It might be one of those "well, it's too late now" situations, but don't forget we plan to raise some money to pay for the facilities and such with a raffle and a silent auction
smile.png

Sherri, thanks for the head's up on the chick shipments. I think that is when they were getting them last year, but I'm pretty sure it didn't start until the end of March or first of April.
I hope those eggs hatch! I can't believe that you had almost already marked them off already
