I need to get the prices on the POOPS t-shirts. I've had some other obligations but those have gotten manageable at this point. I will have the price soon and I will post as soon as I know.

I have my homemade bator working now. I figured out how to keep a constant temp using a hot water thermostat. It was on all last night. This morning when I checked it the temp was 98 degrees high and low. Just a little more tweaking on the temp and humidity. I'm very proud of it! I have to update my bator page.

For all of those thinking about the Durant auction, I picked up a dozen white mallard eggs (just in time for testing the "new" bator), 2 white crested black polish chicks (that was all they had) and a beautiful quad of Bantam Cochins.

Grace, I want you to check out the Bantam Cochins that I got. I believe they may be show quality. They are gorgeous! Lots of fluffy all over. They look like the pictures in the APA.

I'm very excited over my latest purchases.

Now, it's time to build more pens...

Hello fellow Okies,

I just looked at what Michigan folks were talking about to see why they are ahead of us ... well, they did a lot of posts just to get ahead of us. That's OK, we have better college football teams than they do!

Are you speaking of John Teels auction? I have been there before and whew was it packed! Of course that was many many moons ago.

I am listening to TRADIO (which is a swap shop on the radio) if anyone is close to atoka Someone is giving away geese for free all you got to do is catch them yourself. LOL several have tried to catch them, but none has succeeded so far. There is also a guy who advertised he has tons of baby chicks for sale. He has Barred Rocks, Buff orps and Rhode Island Reds. Anyone need the number just pm me.

Has anyone been to the Sunday Sulpher swap meet lately? They use to have tons of birds and animals. I haven't been in about a year or so and was wondering if they are still having it.

Also was there something else beside the Auction happening in Durant? An egg swap or something. I can't find the post where I thought I saw something. Anyway, any info is appreciated.

Hi Buck,

Thanks so much, but I can't take the credit for them, as I just purchased them 2 months ago from the farmers market.

I am hoping to get a really good Ameracauna rooster to see what patterns I can develop.

Do all of them lay a colored egg? When I had Easter Eggers only about half of mine laid a colored egg.

It looks like yours have the Blue Laced Red Wyandotte feather color pattern. That may be what they used to get the coloring.
I hope you can find the rooster you need.

That would be quite entertaining to see which group gave up first. Pitch a picnic and sit back to watch the show. Good times, good times.

Yep, all four lay colored eggs. Even Lola the beardless/muffless EE lays the most gorgeous aqua colored eggs. One of the red laced blue hens lays a deep olive green egg.

I am thinking the same thing. They must have been crossed with a blue laced red wyandotte because they have the a lot of characteristics of the wyandottes, such a body shape and feathering pattern. They may not be beautiful to anyone else, but I am a proud momma of them.

Grace and I are trying to get Carla down for some of her birds and eggs. If we could get rid of her J-O-B, I think we could get her enticed to come to Durant because of the auction (John Teel's).
