Charter - I suspect that Ronnie will try and talk you out of some of those silkies, since for a long time he has been looking for silkies "close to Talequah because he gets lost easily"

It is good that you were able to visit with friends. Sounds like you are ready to start doing the show rounds again.

The next sell is on Friday march 20th.. it starts at 6PM with the junk outside then the goats and then the eggs and chickens..
If you want your stuff to sell early then you need to get it over there early, last night it was out the back door and well into the parking lot.. I didn't stay till the end but I bet he was still selling at midnight.

Yeah 5 is good 4 is even better, then you might be out by 9 or so.. it's on the left, I'm not sure how far it seems like maybe 2.5 or so miles. I believe it's the next road after the Bonnie plant nursery

LOL.....No, I would not say that. Well, let me put it this way, I might show at local shows. There will be no more flying to shows, driving 37 hours to shows and all the other fun stuff. If it is within a 1 hour drive time, okay, maybe 2, three tops, I might show some birds again.
Geeez, what a sucker I am!

Get some VetRX and warm it a little, then rub it over their heads and under the wing where they put their head when they roost (if they have snotty sinuses, there is probably the underside of one wing that has sticky feathers, from their night time nasal drippings)

Also, put some VetRx in their water. Since it floats on the top of the water, they will get some on their beak when they get a drink.

Thanks so much....will get some and use it!

Well, I was going to invite you to a show down this-a way, but it is around a 3 1/2 hour drive... If you might be interested, it's in Idabel, OK and is just on March 28. Entry forums are due in on the 16th. I can give you contact information if you'd like. Maybe you've been to it before?

Graceful - the chicks are darling and the Welsummer eggs are gorgeous!

I didn't go to any auctions this evening, but I am buying Americauna hens/roosters/eggs and Welsummer eggs from Carla - that she had planned to take to Cement..... so I get the benefit of acquiring great stuff from Carla - without the long drive to Cement. I think I will count this as half a step in my 12 step program to overcome my addiction to auctions.

OK, auctions first - This is second hand, but know the folks
that told it. They went up to Chupps Auction at Inola this
morning before coming to the show at Pryor. There were two
boxes of RIRs, 6 hens/1 rooster per box. One man bought
both boxes for " $28 " a head !!!!!!! And some 3-day old
chicks out of these birds brought $4 each !!!!!!!!!!!! We may
fire up the second GQF yet.............

Now, the Pryor ABA show - Charter - we were there, did you
visit with Bill?

I finally got to meet some folks from here ! Slightlycracked
recognized Bill from my description and he hollered at me on
his cell phone. And, got to meet Cubanlongtails doing the
pigeon swap....... It's neat to get to put some faces to these
names. And, for a newbie that just sees the names in the
"champion" publications.....Andy Barnes couldn't be a nicer
person, and funny, too.......and his Mom is an absolute doll
and we can't wait to get to visit with her again. He's the one
that I gave the ration of "dookie" to when I saw him blow
drying his bird at the entry door. I didn't have a clue who
he was, and probably wouldn't have gotten to get acquainted
with him. Seems dumb to have worried about it now...........

The kids did really well with their birds. We'll get it sorted out
one of these days. But the highlight.........Both TJ and
Slightlycracked's boy placed in the TOP 5 JUNIORS !!!!!!!!
And, Kendra made it to the final line-up with her mottled cochin hen.
So, the Okies on the BYC kids were "lookin' good" at Pryor today.

And, CubanLongtails heard Pa-Pa say it......"We'll probably see
y'all the end of April." LOL

Have a good one !

Well the 2009 NE Oklahoma Poultry Show is in the books, and on behalf of the Pryor 4-H , I would like to say thank you to all that came out in support and to Exhibit your birds. I did not get to meet and visit with all of the Exhibitors that I should have and would like to apologize for that. I hope everyone had a good time and look forward to the next one.
