I would love to hear theories on this too. Was she a black chic with a bit of red around her face? I have a feeling that is what one of my pullets from atwoods is going to look like..... I just thought she was cute, I've gotta stop going to feed stores

For now on I send hubby......

Here is a better picture. It is just a small comb. Smooth dark legs.

They lay white eggs. Bantam.

They are really funny when they get out into the shed that holds their pen and hide eggs. It is quite a site to see one of these little biddies trying to cover 10-15 eggs. The bad news is when I walk in and find 10-15 new chicks that we had no idea we were getting. We just raise them as pets so don't really need that many at one time.

I try to not let my wife go into a feed store with me in the spring anymore.

Graceful Bantams, you got me. I think the first picture is actually an offspring of one of the original hens crossed with a gray bantam rooster that had feathered legs. Sorry about that.

The second picture is one of the originals.

Thanks to Lynn as well.

Grace, I think they are the same bird and maybe the comb is folded or and the way she is standing may have something to do with the way she looks, I raised 19 different colors of OEB when my girls were younger and we showed all over the state, this was one of the colors I hadat that time I was one of the first to import the FAWN color in OEGB into the state from Tennessee. There are so may colors it is hard to choose from them. Lynn

Sorry Grace, I stand corrected!!! I was thinking I seen some muff on the first picture but heck I am gettin old and don't see too good now anyways, the color pattern is the Quail, it also comes in a Blue Quail pattern, Lynn

I honestly have no idea, the only pullets I've ever bought were buff orps and I don't know if I got a deal or shafted

What is a reasonable price? (Sorry, I hate when people say that but I really have no idea what is reasonable)

Definately no more feed store chics, no matter how empty my brooder looks......

The Old English Game Bantams that I had really have very special personalities and most of the hens are very sweet, they are great setters and very protective mothers but they will find their own food if let to roam and are bad about stealing nest out and coming in with babies so don't be surprised. they can be a little flighty but most are calm and personable, Lynn
