Of course our main breed is the Naked Necks and then we have the RIRs plus a few crosses running around. Starting this year we are hatching Welsummers, Russian Orloff, Golden Salmon Marans, and the Saipan Jungle Fowl. in the standard size.
In bantams we have RIRs, Shamo, Malay, Asil and some Malay X Naked Neck that I have developed broody hens out of and 1 pen of White Leghorns with one White NN hen in there too.
We started with some fair stock RIRs plus a few red Sex-links that I put an old but good RIR rooster over and got some fair birds out of. The hens were larger, darker and better shaped then their moms were and I was going to breed them back to their dad but unfortunatly he died before producing any chicks out of them. He had spurs close to three inces long so he was old. But he never put a feather out of place on his hens and never tolerated any foolishness either.
That was two years ago and I have been looking for just the right rooster ever since. Some of our hens are approaching ten years old and we lose one now and again but those that are left are still laying well.
Al That incubator looks good. May you hatch every egg that goes in there.
