Sorry for the loss of your cuban lady.

That's bad news. Was she eggbound? I know one of mine has been throwing some odd eggs, I'm rather concerned. She's from Ideal and almost two years old.

Since you are using a Sumatra hen, the resulting offspring will carry more of the sumatra type than the cubalaya. They'll still be pretty for sure!

I am up and drinkin my coffee, well the homemade bator made it through the first night of heat up and did not burn the house down LOL, I have to jack with the temp just a smidgen, but it has held good all night. Almost ready to start my hatching egg search, so much to choose from, and figuring out who are reputable sellers.

Congratulations on completion Al !!!! Do you have any pictures of it yet? How many eggs will it hold, do you think? Can you put different size eggs in it at the same time? Did you put automatic turners in? I looked at the side by side refrigerator I have and I think I could make it work for a Incubator on one side and a Hatcher on the other, may be able to use pre made automatic turners also if the size is close enough. have been looking around and Atwood's carries several parts for the styrofoam incubators including the turners and fans. My wife works there so I can get parts at a discount!!!! Lynn
