Everyone ready for the rain?? We sure are around here!

How has everyone been handling the fires? I hope no one has been effected by them. I'm an emergency dispatcher for Grady County, it was a wild and crazy day Thursday. Several homes were lost in multiple towns. Our fires did not take as many homes as Midwest City's did, but any loss is devastating. If anyone has anything they would like to donate, I know it would be greatly appreciated.

How is everyone doing tonite? Im sitting here with a little winnie puppie about 2 and 1/2 weeks old teething on my finger. Im still waiting on my eggs from superior hatchery to come in, my incubator is going crazy. I did manage to get 6 for 6 to hatch on some wyndotte x wyandotte or RIR (not sure who) to hatch the same day the puppies where born. Now my bator is sittin there looking all sad and not running

I haven't quit yet but yes I am tuckered out. Went for a sandwich break. I had to take a minute and watch God give Moses the Ten Commandments on TV.
Which brings up the question If man wasn't supposed to have Guns then why was Moses head of the NRA?
Some questions are tooo easy.

Hey Ronnie... I might have missed it but how many puppys did you have? Are they all black and tans? Mine had four. One male was a goregous very light chocolate with darker chocolate and tan dappleing. He was the runt and didn't thrive and died the next day(wonder if it was the double dapple thing) The other three were females,one blk/tan,one almost brown and tan,and one that is sliver,brown and tan dapple,it looks like its mother. I will try and post some pics tomorow if I can figure out how to do.

I looked up the guys website that had the marans eggs at the show today. He's got some nice birds but wow! $60 a dozen plus shipping!Wife said I could but man I have a hard time justifying that for my hobby. Especialy for eggs.His website is backwoodspoultry.com.Check it out its pretty cool.

OK I have been examining the big question of me and my chicken
existence.
I have five pure lines of different breeds plus three top secret projects.
I don't use an incubator and yet I have many many eggs from these breeds lying around waiting to be hatched.
I sell a few eggs at auctions (not that many) and I sell a few to a neighbor to eat.
I spend lots and lots more money than I can ever recoup.
So what is my mission? Do I need all of these chickens? I don't really have that many, just 50 or 60 adult birds.
I really need to find my chicken niche. I am not sure which direction to go with these guys.
I guess I need to get a good incubator or get off the pot, so to speak. Either that or start sellling some birds.
Thanks for letting me use you guys as my sounding board.

Hi everyone - I just got back from the Tulsa Talons arena football game. We kicked some rear - I think our opponents were from Ohio...

Anyway, looks like it was a good day for most. It's not "thunderating" here yet...

I built a ramp for my pullets to go outside their new coop - they've been just jumping down out the pop door and back up at nightfall. But when I put the ramp up they just stood in the door looking at it. I had to go work at the game so I didn't get to see if they used it or not. Silly clucks.
