Henny- could it be a reaction to meds? might want to check what they are giving her-

lets see- what did i do today- shoved the dogs outside now that its not raining- lost a roo to one of them, so very cautious with them anywhere near the chicks- then spent time with chicks... painted some(am a portrait artist) and spent time with family- hubby's been to sick to make it to church... gorgeous day! Wish the coop was done..

That has pretty much got to be it... She is on a narcotic pain patch with Lortab for breakthrough pain. She is on a pill to lower blood pressure, detrol, nexium, aspirin, Lexapro and Thyroid meds.

She has been on the same stuff for awhile... For 3 herniated discs and a torn rotator cuff. This happens every time she gets and infection of some sort,,, but this is the worse I have seen her and the longest it has ever lasted. She's agitated and obsessing over fabrics! Its weird. She has over the last several months spent hundreds of dollars on Publishers Clearing House. They are about ready to hear from me....but I think it's her money....its all she has that she likes....getting stuff in the mail.... I'm wanting to just cry and sleep.... I'm exhausted. Physical stuff is one thing...mental stuff and I could not keep her at home, obviously. Breaks my heart....

Henny - my heart goes out to you. Our family has dealt with its share of physical problems, but I count myself very fortunate that we never had the "out of it" problems. I am reminded of the words of Mother Teresa, when she said ~I know God won't give me more than I can handle, but sometimes I wish He didn't trust me so much~
As a (former) caregiver, I can't stress the importance of SLEEP. Our bodies need sleep more than they need water. A lack of Sleep lowers our resitance to illness and makes it much more difficult to make wise decisions. Lack of sleep makes our blood pressure and our weight more difficult to control.
In a very sad way, if your mother isn't remembering well and is not acting like her old self, you have lost the person you love. Her body is still here, but her personality and her responses are those of a stranger to you. Hopefully, a careful review of her medications and some tweaking of them will allow the mother you know, to return.

Stimpy - I have been a busy little feller! I decorated for prom Friday night until I had to leave to load the stuff for the sale on Saturday. Took 204 birds and 200 eggs to Dodge City...met a BYCer. Bought some cool stuff but sold more so the wife is somewhat happy. Pultry and bees - she still has not learned her lesson!!
