Okies in the BYC The Original

I got a nice surprise from my mail lady today, my BBS Orp hatching eggs that I won in a BYC contest, not one broken and packed great. Now The little quail eggs that Teach hooked me up with will have some company in the incubator.

Teach :
Those little quail are fast as the dickens, you had better be quick when handling them, got them settled, built them a nice cozy temporary hooch. I found one of them upon closer inspection with sealed eye lids, he gets around ok, kinda like ole one eyed AL.

Gotta show off my Silkies from okcarla...i am in love with the little dickens...

had them with a divider separating them from the older ones, went in about an hour later and somehow they had gotten in with the bigger ones.... watched them a bit and went ahead and separated them again just to be safe

Awwwhhhhh, yes they are addictive too! They've actually got big personalities and should do OK with the bigger chicks. I even put baby turkeys with the silkies for a little while, til the turkeys start stepping on them.

Morning all!!!!!!!!!! Could not sleep so here I am all alone.
Lets see if i can remember everything.
I got to meet a little girl saturday, she told me her full name and I told her well that is a pretty name and she said yes it is spelled H E A T H E R. She is a doll baby.

Grace I really dont have incubator skills, I am winging it. I think Monty and I have figured out that we are having a fertility issue on some so that is why the hatch was down a bit this go around. We will probably have to use some of PaPa teachings to get that issued solved. Monty get the eye droppers ready.

You know talking about Fall POOPS, what about a chili cook off.

P&B, Jaxon is in kindergarten????? He didnt look that old.

Hi all,

I just want to say a BIG thank you to all that had a hand in preparing for POOPS. I had so much fun and learned so much. This is the first chance I've had to write and thank you, my mom's in the hospital, second time in a month. Anyway, I think POOPS finished "hooking" my husband. He had a blast even though we didn't know a soul there.

Thank you so much for the nametags. I can now put a face with some of you, memory not the best, but at least when I read you on here I can feel like I know who is talking. I can see that you all are a bunch of good fun loving people and that's our kind of people.

We were so thrilled that before we ate we blessed the food because so much of the world has forgotten that if not for HIM we wouldn't have even had a get together like POOPS.

Everyone was so wonderful to answer my dumb questions, especially the kids. I teach Pre-K, so I'm around kids all the time. I want to commend you parents, grandparents, etc. for the fine children that I saw there. They were quick to answer or help with anything I asked. It was a blessing to see kids with such wonderful manners and attitudes.

Lynn, I don't know if you got my pm but yes it was me sitting on the bench talking with you and my daughter and grandkids. I certainly enjoyed that visit. I certainly hope we have another POOPs soon. I would love to help in any way that I can with it. My fellow teachers heard nothing but POOPS at school yesterday and they said "didn't have much fun did you" LOL

Better get to bed, got a bunch of munchkins to face in a few hours and I have to be on my toes. Catch you later and God Bless!

Donna

Thanks for the link first... I DO NOT like that side shot at all... What do I have three chins ? Gee...
2 nd AnnaBell would love the Polish AND cochins... They are the two types in the flock that everyone LOVE... The silkie now after poops are wonderful.
I need to go take some pics of what we have here...

I need to take pics of my chicks as well, sadly I don't have a digital camera.
And I don't think we need that many picture of me, do we? a distant shot is good enough, one where you can barly see me.. j/k, anyways, again I need to get off to get to school, but not before I finish reading everything first.

How many chicks did you go home with Stray? I know you posted their names a ways back, but I'm lazy...

You have a great family - I am so glad both your parents and your niece came (I know, she wasn't that into it). At first your folks didn't seem too excited about taking baby chicks home because you're moving and don't yet have a place all set up for clucks. But I laughed out loud when your mom saw okcarla's baby silkies - her face lit up and I swear she turned into a 4 year old for a few minutes! It was fun to see. Your poor dad turned to me at one time and said, "What are you doing to me?" I hope everything turns out great with your new house and all your peeps.

I would be happy to bring the Rolaids and Fritoes to a chili cookoff this Fall.

Yes, Jaxon is 5 years old. His mom is short, so both he and his older brother tend to be the shorter kids in their respective classes.
He had more fun last night, putting the quail eggs into the individual holders and using the zizzors to cut the tape on the little cartons.

Is it possible to have a football game in the Fall without hitting some football weekend?

I try to schedule my Fall church blood drive on a weekend other than bedlam or OU/Texas, but other than that, I consider myself lucky if at either OU or OSU have an "away" game the weekend of the blood drive.

The location will probably be affected by those who agree to do all the work to organize the event and haul all the cooking stuff to the location.

Just tell me where to show up.

I wasn't even thinking about "big boy" football...I've got a 3rd and 5th grader who live eat and breathe it and they are starting on new teams this year, since we moved.

We'll just have to see how it goes. If there's enough interest around the NE OK area, I've got a spot. But, OKC might be more convenient for people.

Oh well! There's a little while to figure it out, huh? LOL!

I met Cityclucks today! What a sweetie! She brought me my DE that poultryandbees picked up for me!

Shelly

It was great to meet you, too sred98 - you're on the "must come list" for the next POOPS. (I know, I was rubbing it in wearing my POOPS shirt.) I think we could have stood in that McDonald's parking lot talking all day!

I found your old thread of your dark cornish hen...yep - she's just like mine. Oceanseve had some at POOPS, too. I was so glad to hear that yours lays really well - that makes me happy! Thanks!
