Carla and Henny, thanks for the sweet and uplifting words. They are appreciate so much.

Ugg, I did a no no today. I went to Orschelns to buy some wire and they had baby speckled sussex. Of course I HAD to buy some. My husband love the baby Partridge Rocks and wishes we had got some of them. Now I have tweeters in the house again. Plus I am fixing to set some Blue Plymouth Rocks. I am sick I tell ya.

Just got back in from wading through the muddy flight pen. The eggs in the nest boxes are just a little bit muddy. The turkey and duck eggs that were laid on the ground - are slimy mud dirty. Ick.

Chickensandmore Don - we let all 7 of the new runner ducks out of the pen today so they could run around on the grass. I thought watching 3 runners go around like they were tied together was funny. Watching 7 runners waddling in a tight formation is really funny. I wonder how long it will be before all 10 of them are running in formation. So far, the fawn duck we had is the only one who has been over to "talk" to them. I wonder if somehow he realizes that his color matches the new ducks instead of the old ducks, or if the different feather colors give the ducks a different pitch to their voices or something.

Sorry, no 12 step programs to help you overcome your chicken addiction on this thread. You are more likely to get help acquiring MORE chickens from the enablers we have.

Dizzy! Where in OK are there Speckled Sussex? The only Orscheln's I've seen are in Henryetta and Durant. I need some of those Speckled Sussex!

Hey Teach, what kind of pigeons are the ones that have the feathers around their heads that grow backwards- like hair that's brushed around their faces? Your Roy and Greybear's son Dakota gave me a quick lesson on pigeons, but I forgot it already. I igure if I can learn to recognize those weird ruff-feathered ones, that's a start. Then I need to be reminded about rollers and tumblers.
