The plan as of this minute is to drive to the Chupps auction very early Saturday morning, stay til about noon & then head to Cement ... but that could all change if that retired AF guy doesn't get better soon. Poor thing is still sick. He thinks he'll be better by the weekend, but it just depends on if the antibiotics kick in good enough.

The doc asked him if he'd been to Mexico lately, and of course he said no ... but I told Gerald he should have mentioned the Jones auction .... there was a group of non-English speaking hispanics standing next to where we were sitting

Oh, and then there's every McDonald's we go to ... Anyway doc said it's just a sinus infection .... but .... well I hope that's all it is. Every now & then Gerald will oink at me!

Sounds good, tell Gerald Army guy's don't get sick, so suck it up and get out there

Hey Peeps

I am so excited. Got all small peeps integrated in south coop. Maggie is in the big coop...It got so hot today I let them all out to freerange together so I figured they could roost together too. So much for quarantine...

Teach that hen you gave me is awesome. she just wants to sit my lap and if I put her away she squawks away. I think she might be a lap chicken. She thought Mr. Squeaky was full of krap.... I told her he was a man... of course he is....He tried to impress her with the wing dance thing... She was...unimpressed....

I love all my chickens. My Pollacks are absolutely hilarious.... but my raffle RIRs got in there, there was fake rooster antics.

My mom is doing really well....which I attribute to the prayers of my friends and God's grace. It's up and down... but they are amazing with her. I went ot her PT today and they really look after her....I am so blessed....

P.S. Setting up the Hovabator tomorrow.....!!!

Me Or Byrdluv?

Well you of course, I just type too slow to respond right under where someone has posted. We live in Kingfisher so OKC is not very far for me to go and I have all the tools needed for carpentry work. Or if it's a metal shed I have a torch and portable welder. Covered either way.

It's a wooden shed and rain just ruined it. Dad says that the siding and part of the roof, how much venting recomendations for this area, Insulation, and the flooring at the edges. The building itself is up on railroad ties and from what we can see of them some of them are rotting out, is it ok for it to just be on the ground?
I don't have a digital camera right now so pictures can't be done.
The house is located on 5105 NW 25th street in OKC

Hey birdluv!

Good to see you again! Aren't those silkies great?! We have enough rain for a while don't we!? Everything is nothing but mud, at least where it isn't rock! DH got the garden out while I was at POOPS!

Sitting it on the ground would rot the bottom of it out much faster, even if it is treated lumber. A base of crushed stone would work well as would those blocks that are used for decks. As long as you get something to coat the wood or waterproof it. I will assume that it had plywood or chip board for sheeting? Both do not do well in the wet.

In our area insulation is not really needed as it will also hold the heat in during the summer.

They are auctions that sell poultry. Chupps is East of Tulsa and Cement is SW of Chickasha ... about a 4 hour drive between the 2 of them. It's fun to go to auctions & see what things sell for ... it's sort of like my addiction to going to garage sales ... I can't wait to see what's at the next one and maybe even take home a one of a kind treasure!

Henny - I wouldn't be surprised she wasn't impressed! She has been with a crele rooster and well...they are bit more impressive. I kinda thought you might like her. She might have halped me feed a time or two. We had a pigeon that did that as well...might have another...kinda excited. Was messing with them yesterday and a baby made no protest when I banded it and messed with it...I think I have a buddy! On the other hand me and the brassy back roo had to have a brother hood meeting...he lost...not totally but he didn't draw blood so he got off lucky
