Thank God everyone seems OK....was watching the lightning over you guys and could tell it was a bad storm. Al, was worried about ya when I saw it heading for ya......My web news said maybe a tornado in Anadarko? Luvs ya need a fraidy hole! Everyone in Oklahoma should have a fraidy hole!! Fraidy holes should be standard.... and NOT above ground safe rooms either.....See how well those held up in Moore! HMPH! Cubans hang in there girl....

I dont have a ditch but the back of my property slopes down and Ive got 2 ten foot deep creeks with no water so that is where we go when we need. Most of the time we have weather like this tornadoes go over us just cause we are in the bottom of a small valley. But I keep telling Carl I want a storm shelter. Too many kids to go running for the creek 30 yards away.

Yea we do need one, Maybe I can get Lynn to dig us a hole that is snake proof. My great grandma had a cellar when I was a little girl, you could NOT get me to go into that thing for love nor money. When I was in Switzerland last year at the lake house, they kept the wine and beer in the cellar, well it was March so I said to myself, self its to cold here for them to have snakes so should be OK. I just dont like damp dark places at all.

There is this house foundatiuon across the road from us and a couple of old abandoned buildings where there used to be an old gas station etc.... there is a fraidy hole over there that has about a foot of water in it.... Hubby looked down in there, looked up at me and said, "I'm taking my chances with the tornado." we got a fraidy hole a little while after.... It was a scream... He's terrified of snakes.....

Well we are great up here in extreme Northeast Okie there was a couple of funnels sited but there was nothing ever reported to be touching down, lots of rain and wind and a little bit of hail but other than that everything is great....... Hope everyone else was as lucky as we were!!!

You think the snake thing is bad. I have a nephew that is terrified of frogs. If it came between the frog and a tornado he would take the tornado. I can understand the snake thing, the can kill you, but frogs! He is 19 and still runs and screams like a girl if you get within 5 feet of him holding a frog.

Wowie Zowie! Those were some crazy storms last night! The lightning was really something to see. I am such a wuss, I lived in Ca too long. I forgot what a real storm was like. In Cali you just get that weird heat lightning and the thunder is a joke. I come back home to OK and it really makes you stop and think of the Awesomeness of God. These storms are terrific (when no one gets hurt).

I recall last year we had tons of rain too. We had to forgo plans of camping for months because the water levels at the local lakes was too high. I hope this year we don't run into the same problems this year. I will just say Thank you Lord for the sunshine we go to enjoy yesterday and pray for a little more today.

Some of you were talking about fraidy holes. Does anyone have children that think your bed is a fraidy hole? OH, how I hate it when the storms come and the kids do to. I sleep terrible because it never fails one of my kids spins in circles kicking me to the edge and I just leave and go sleep in their room or on the couch. I being the mean mom always say no but, my husband says '"they will only be little for awhile let them in". SUCKER!!! However, he gets to sleep and I get kicked out so I guess that's why he doesn't seem to mind it.
