P&B - We had two does and one buck around here a few years
ago. A friend of ours inheritted several from his brother that
raised them up in Kansas. They were soooo neat, we brought
those home with us. I'll check with Tom this evening and ask
him to refresh my memory about the "ovaries developing the
fat layer around them" bit again.

Oh, one of these does was a cantankerous gal, too. As I recall,
she managed to bite all four of us....LOL We messed with them
for a couple of years and never did manage to raise a litter, but
I think Tom did.

Will holler back if I can get in touch with him.

Have a good one !

Ronnie - If you'll leave a note for Randall in your mailbox, he
won't take your eggs out on the route and get them all shook
up. He'll just leave you a note that they are there.........

Or do like we do and call the post office that you have some
coming in and they'll call you about 7:30 in the morning to
come get them and not send them out on the route.

I dont usually incubate so I doubt one of her eggs would be hatched out, i just had hoped someone had heard of such a thing.
I guess i could cull her, but i hate to if she can still lay an egg, should know soon.

Teach, Jared just ran in to tell me the quail are hatching. I thought man that is early should be a few more days. As it turns out, they were chicks from some EE eggs I had added to the bator when the broody hen quit in the middle of her shift. So I guess the quail will be here on Thursday.

I think that is a black rat snake. Some just have more spots than others. Some are solid black.

I have never seen one packing heat before. i will have to be more careful when I am at the pens.

They do the initial NPIP training class once a year, so unless you have Irish twins, pregnancy shouldn't keep you from attending next year.

In all seriousness, I hope you have an easy delivery and a healthy baby.
