Nope, I'm not going to this one in OKC - but if there's no one from my area going, I am happy to come pick them up or meet somewhere.

I'm sure we can work something out.

PS ... That didn't seem nearly as cheesy in my head

Darn dogs!!! got some of my chickens. I got a barred pullet out of the pyranees mouth and he still had feathers hangin out. I hope she is ok they almost pulled her tail feathers out, well they got half of the tail. What should I do for her? She is eating and drinking and the other birds don't seem to be picking her yet. Her wounds are almost completly covered by her wing and other feathers.

Stimpy I can give you directions to my house. I cant really meet anywhere. Gotta pick up grandson off the bus in about 30 minutes and with Lynn's hand, he has to drive me and its not a doable thing right now.

Ag programs available to help recoup fire losses

Agricultural producers who suffered livestock or fencing damage due April wildfires in Payne County may be eligible for assistance through the Payne County Farm Service Agency.

The Livestock Indemnity Program provides compensation to eligible livestock producers who lose livestock because of eligible adverse weather events, including fire, in excess of their normal mortality.

Producers who have sustained death losses need to begin compiling their livestock death loss documentation, a Farm Service Agency representative said. Producers must provide proof of livestock inventory and losses of livestock at the time of the disaster .

Documentation can include, but is not limited to, rendering truck receipts, veterinary records, loan records, bank statements, farm credit balance sheets and sales and purchase receipts, a representative said. If producers cannot provide documentation a third-party verification can be used, but guidelines for accepting these are stringent, the representative said.

Payments will be based on 75 percent of a fair market value as determined by the secretary for each specific livestock category. Eligible livestock include, but are not limited to, beef and dairy cattle, buffalo, equine, sheep, swine, goats, and poultry. To ensure that producers are eligible for the program, they are encouraged to contact the FSA office immediately, the representative said.

As a result of fires in April and at the Payne County FSA Committee’s request, Payne County has been approved for the Emergency Conservation Program. Practices eligible for cost share assistance are EC-3, Restoring Permanent Fence.

EC-7 is limited to fences used for enclosing or excluding livestock. This includes cross fences, boundary fences, cattle gates and other fencing. Corrals and feedlots, ornamental fences, holding pens and cattle guards are not eligible for assistance.

If repair is only simple fence reconstruction to fences with minor damage when materials from the previous fence are used, cost share is not authorized. Fences over 30 years are ineligible. Fence replacement or repair must be performed in accordance with Natural Resources Conservation Service guidelines. The cost share rate is 75 percent of the actual cost of labor and materials not to exceed average rates established for Oklahoma. Limited resource producers can receive a 90 percent cost share rate.

Sign-up for ECP is May 18 through June 17. Call (405) 372-5711, ext. 2 of for answers to questions regarding ECP or to schedule an appointment to complete an application.

Tina, The snake is a ground rattler sometimes called a pygmy rattler.
Good news is that that type of rattler isn't as poison as a copperhead.
Just do a search for ground rattlesnake and there is some good info. I think it was on Wikpedia.
Anyway if you can keep it from getting infected, he will be bowling in no time.
