I do know I have to get rid of some roos. They are tearing up my hens. Now to decide which ones. Ok help out an old soul. I have 1 lav JG hen 1 blue hen, 1 black roo(really want to keep him) 2 blue roos(do I keep to put the with 5 or so black hens I have). I could do up a trio of 2 black hens and 1 of the blue roos.

You know folks it seems like it is that time of year to thin down the flocks and by what I am reading on our site we all have a bunch of birds. After the intervention meetings at each of our houses we probably have enough birds to have our own auction. Of course, if we do not get some outside people in we are all just going to swap birds and be right back where we started.
Ok so maybe the auction idea isn't the best one. But I do like the idea of everyone making a list of what birds we want to sell and posting it is great. Also we could include any birds we are wanting as well.
So while I am waiting for the water to drain from the hole we had to dig in the front yard I will make my list.

It is a Broweer chick and quail brooder. I got it for $50.

Oh you are so lucky Monty !!!! I bought my first one new for over $200 plus shipping. I bought 2 more used for over a hundred each. I really like using ours for the chicks until they get around 3 weeks old & then put them in growout pens. I think this is what you got?

I wish I had my coop built, I'd help some of you fine folks downsize.

Anyone else had really bad allergies this year? I finally had to cave and go to the doctor for a couple of prescriptions. I can now breathe!

For the past month and a half any time I've tried to get out in the yard and work I'd end up sneezing my fool head off and spend the rest of the weekend sick wiht congestion and a runny nose. Not anymore!

This weekend I will be tilling flowerbeds, ripping up a deck, and destroying a hot tub. The bits of the deck will have the funky parts cut off and get reused for coop bones.

I'm excited!

BigOkie Nice lo0oking bunch of chicks!

. Normal polish don't have the extra digit. Don't know how you manage to keep those ducks with the chicks, mine always kept the chicks soaked till they drowned!

Gerald and I are seriously thinking of going to the Chupps auction Saturday am and then running back home to pick up some birds and hatching eggs to sell at the Cement auction.

They don't sell hatching eggs at the Chupps auction, do they?

Anyway, if going to Chupps ... I'll be bringing Donna a mille fleur d'uccle roo

Anybody else going and need something we have?

We are going to take our quad of Egyptian Fayoumi chickens and all their offspring, and then we'll probably take some silkie chickens and some roosters of various breeds and .... whatever other birds we can think of that are extras. I could sell some of the bantam cochin chicks that we have .... maybe 3 or 4 of several colors, and of course we have lots of nice silkie chicks.

Teach,

Did you ever get all your OEGB & other bantam eggs that you're bringing to the NPIP class spoken fore yet? If not, I want them!

Remember, I'm seriously downsizing! Gerald and I are going to sell some large fowl and get some of those little fellas to entertain me.
