Glad to hear that it is raining. I hope it cools things down there for the weekend. I am going to be in Altus Saturday for a family reunion. If you are not busy, maybe you can get together with my wife and I for coffee.

Around here I think 40% means that the humidity will make it above 20%. My ringnecks just finished hatching, the weekend was asst bantams with some polish in the bunch, buff orp ducks Fri, and next week right before I take off I have an asst of purebreds (various types of marans, hamburgs, wyandottes, along with partridge pene, spitzhauben, kraienkoppe, sebright, mille fleur, wellie, NHR, brown leghorn, and others) which I'm excited about. Terrible timing but I got a deal on some fun stuff so I'll have to band them all so that I know what they are as soon as they hatch and then leave probably the same day. That is kind of scary, to leave chicks to the pet sitter.

Sorry Teach, no quail yet and I'm done for the summer hatching, just too hot. MIL's friend brought some quail eggs to her that she found in the haystack, all non-starters. Step-Dad says he wants me to try some for him in the fall or next spring.

Hi all, thundering here- the coop roof is on...yahoo!! my crop sick pullet is still hanging in there, she is on yogurt today and nothing else to see how she does- dang, she better pull through! she was a rescue chick and i have alot investing in her feather butt!

meanwhile the guineas are a blast, getting friendlier- heard someone say the girls will have one white wing feathers- if thats true, i have 3 girls and a boy...

carla- here's your silkies- they are a riot- heard them cheeping loud last nite- they couldn't find the teddy bear blankie- once they find it they go right to sleep!

Oh Lynn is back to "normal" His finger is still sore and he favors it, you can tell he had an injury on that finger. You should have seen him Sunday night trying to clean the catfish, his right pointer finger with healing snake bite and his left pointer finger stung by the catfish. LOL He said a few "choice" words.

He is more cautious about "snake" things now, like we had a pile of JUNK laying around and he asked me how many snakes do you think is under there, I said at least a million, he carefully moved the stuff well aware there COULD be some. Now mind you this guy was raised in the country and knows alot about snakes. He was just stupid that one night. He DOES NOT want to go back to the hospital and visit them anymore.

OK... now Robin made me want to hatch silkies... they are just too cute....

My EEs from Greybears are hilarious... I give them oatmeal and they zip up to me then zip away... they go through this several times until they are sure I am not there to do them dire harm. They zip everywhere in spurts like the Pollacks. They play chicken football with the flies in their brooder. I put them in with my self blue and pearl OEG babies and they are just starting to make friends... The OEGs trust NO ONE. They are like the Mafia... There is a lot of staring. It is all very entertaining... could watch them for hours....
