Evening everyone, been busy all day with the little one, last nite he began eating, this morning he opened his eyes, this afternoon he had to make sure any feathers he could reach were clean!

amazing difference, he still is paralyzed, but movement in his left wing and legs- he keeps trying to stand and launches - still am clueless as to what happened, but he's a stubborn little one- 2 months old and no quit in him/her- seems his left leg is weaker than the other, but time will tell...here is a link of todays progress-

meanwhile the girls are in their temporary run during the day, finishing up the permanant one- they are a riot to watch, a moth flies by and off they go... the roo is still learning his job, isn't too swift at getting them into the coop in the evening, but he tries!

Thanks NN... that's good to know.
I lost one of my polish today, which reminds me Muesky how are your little polish doing?
I went up to the coop an hour ago

I'd put the EE's out in it a few days ago. When I got there there were only three heads there that I counted. Merangue was not inside with the rest of them, I got the flood light out of my moms car and went back up to the coop to see if she'd gotten out, I checked all over the yard before I went to the run to find her sprawled out on her back. Her leg's messed up and it looks like something tried to rip her wing off the was alot of blood on her, she's sitting in the living room right now, I cleaned her up as best as I could her head keeps falling backbut mom says that's from shock... Anyways she's eating and drinking but she's not responding to anything I do with her (Such as pick her up, move her leg, or move to quickly.), I hope I'm not going to find her dead in the morning.

Really sounds like a racoon tried to get her. They are famous for reaching through the wire and trying to pull the bird through it.

If she pulls through the shocky part she will most likely be fine if the injuries don't get infected. Chickens are really tough birds over all.

My last power bill was OK. I have set my house at 82ish. run fans a lot. Have a window unit in the bedroom. Run it a couple hours at night to freeze it out... then shut it off and just use ceiling fan. I unplug most everything not in use. My best friend in Dallas has even been unplugging her TV and washer etc. She says it's a pain in the tush, but makes a big difference.

I went out early this morning and did hens. It was so fun to watch the herd of peeps running hither and yon. They were a riot. They loved this cool morning. The storm really dropped temps last night.

Hope everything is OK.... Monty and teach are in my prayers... will be thinking about ya today.

Hi Steph, need more info like voltage, how is motor to be mounted/driven (90 degree, inline/gear, belt or direct), is this a homemade or commercial turner, does it have to 'lift' the trays or are they center pivot, will the motor be mounted away from the water/humidity or in it, etc. BTW, good to meet and talk to you and Carl, and what's Tina up to?

Hello Okies, and good luck with the ailing birds and other stuff.

We might be able to pick up some Gatorade when we go for food later. She's still having trouble walking, not sure what that's from since there are no wounds on her legs. It could have been anything, honestly, since we haven't got the run completely finished

, meaning it's open at the top. The run consists of eight foot privacy fence with wiring burried beneath it.

Hiya all................I am here well not on the computer much..........taking advantage of the cooler weather. We have 2 hoop houses done and Lynn built a chicken condo yesterday, I am painting it today along with myself. I can not do anything without making a mess. It looks so cute .........looks like a lemonade stand. Thinking about painting the trip yellow. Rest is white.

Have a great day.................

CleoChick - Anxious to hear that that little stinker is here. Am
sure Mommy is ready, too.

Luvs - Soooo glad you posted. Yup, we're all spoiled rotten
here and when we don't hear from someone for a while,
we start stewing.

Pa-Pa messed around and mentioned another spot that might
have some good fish in it, and there is even a rope swing
in a tree over there........so off they went again. Bless his
heart, Na-Na seems to be doing the laundry, cooking, picking
up, and Pa-Pa has gotten stuck with most of the "entertaining".
He'll be pooped for a few after this. And, Kendra is about
pooped herself.....LOL It's one thing to have a little brother
around.......she's getting a major dose of having "two" little
brothers around.....LOL Chris will be going home this
evening, but has gone very well, so am sure we'll be doing
this again soon...........CHRIS SAID !!!!!!!.....LOL

Wish someone had a mouse in the classroom sitting beside
Teach today...............

Hope everyone is having a good one, and will have a super
nice Holiday Weekend.

TJ's Na-Na :

Wish someone had a mouse in the classroom sitting beside
Teach today...............

A mouse would distract Teach - he would want to play with it instead of focusing on his test. If he managed to eat something healthy this morning and hasn't had too much Diet Mt. Dew, I am confident he will do fine on his test. Hopefully, he won't have to wait too long for results.

Na-Na - hang in there. You will get them grown and self sufficient one of these days. In the meantime, enjoy a nap during the heat of the day while they are all outside.
