You're right about the addictive part of hatching. Even our dog is a bit chicken crazy. I've got two in the incubator that are still wet, and probably six more to follow.

Here's a picture of the first little guy who hatched today. He's playing egg hockey with the rest of the hatch, so I hope he dries off quickly. I need to get this acrobat out of the incubator and into the brooder before he cracks the rest of my hatch. I think he's a Buff Laced Polish. Sure is a cutie.

So who is going to Blanchard tomorrow? It would be nice to put names and faces to the BYC handles. Dear wife and I will be there, and have decided to wear our Cal Berkley t-shirts for ease of identification. Figure there aren't a whole lot of those in OU and OSU country. I'm in my 50s and have a short beard. Ain't sayin' the wife's age, but she has no beard.

So, if you see us, say hey!

Carla, we will definitely be there and will be looking for your hubby to pick up those poults. And thanks! If for some reason it turns out he isn't going to make it, please give us a call. We will be leaving the house about 2:00.

We went 2 weeks ago when it was around 100 degrees and I didn't see any expired animals other than a few bunnies and some chicks. I overheard someone say that they came from the same seller ... so I'm assuming the seller didn't bring them in good condition.

Jerry and Misti offer bottles of ice to add to cages to cool the animals, their kids walk around with spray bottles spraying cages with water, and there are very large fans blowing. It'll be hot, but I still think it will be enjoyable. I sure wish I could go. Unfortunately, I'm required to work overtime both Saturday and Sunday

I should have done this before I went to Atwoods, but what do you guys use for worming? I went to Atwoods and asked the guy that works there and he showed me the stuff that everyone buys, well I get home and read on it and it says not to be used on chickens or turkeys that produce eggs for Human Consumption! So what should I use now? The stuff I bought is called Wazine 17??

Hi everyone, welcome new people, just wanted to let everyone know I am still alive and feeling much better, have got my blood preasure regulated finally I think, felt pretty good this week, hot here, AC unit quit this morning but got it fixed this evening and the house if finally cooling down, well it is bed time, take care all, Lynn

Been using that for years with no problems, just be sure to repeat in 14 days. The Wazine only kills adult round worms and not the eggs so that is why it has to be repeated.

Lynn I'm glad to hear that you are doing better. Just stay cool and don't over do it.

Morning all :

Hope everybody has a good start to the weekend, I am headed out to the condo to either paint or do the roofing on it or build my last pen, decisions decisions. I know it's going to be brutal outside today but at this point I am so Pi$$ed at IT!! that I just don't care. If I have to wait on good weather to do projects I will never get anything done, I know that when the day is over and I am wore smooth out, I can spit in the weathers eye and say I beat you. Wish me luck, I will visit with you fine folks tonight after Supper.

AL
