Morning all : got woke up early again this am by thunder boomers and strong winds, everything looks Ok and got some nice rainfall to boot. Got to head out early today, gonna meet Buster52 later today and help him Butcher/process some chickens, should be fun.

Moring all, what a nite, what a great light show we had

we needed the rain..I guess we got a couple of inches, I love Oklahoma cause you can get 2 inches on one side of the yard and have to water the garden on the other side

Lookin out the back window I would say the birds fair-ed ok
We got a new Bottle baby Calf over the weekend, but it's not doing very well Hope it makes it until tonight so the wife can dig the hole, Chickens take a much smaller hole I can handle that.. We raised calves years ago, and you loose so many I didn't want any more..But she
said this one spoke to her so here we go again..
any who I have a couple of projects with some friends today, so I am glad that it will be cooler..

Good morning, good morning!! It's a beautiful day and we're alive - praise God! The lightening and thunder woke me up about 3:00 this morning, and it was raining but the weather people said no tornados so I chose to believe them and went back to sleep. It didn't even blow hard enough to knock my trash cans over, the garden is happy, the chickens are happy, the outdoor cat survived, and all is well here.

Good to see you this morning, Al, Queen Scoot and Don!

Don - so sorry about the calf - hope things turn out.

I am new to this version of byc. I live in Northeastern Oklahoma, Osage Co, in a town named Barnsdall.

I am also looking to buy some pullets or hens in this area if anyone knows of a place I can get a few?

Welcome Osage!! I have tons of pullets but live clear across the state! Oh well! There's plenty of Okes up by you who would be glad to help you out!! Or point ya in the right direction.

Wellwe made up for everyone who did not have wind!! We had between 80-90 mph gusts. Took the new roofing off the coop. Mikey was not to happy about that. I think it was less than a month old.

They called Mike at 3:00 am and he hasn't stopped since. Broken poles and lines down everywhere in town. It looks like it might scare something up this afternoon as well. Poor Mike... He got 3 hours sleep.....

Hi everyone!!!

What a great day! We got rain last night boy did we need it! I hate seeing those big cracks in the gound. I don't know about wind or anything else cause I slept through it all!

Sounds like everyone has a plans for the day. Hope you all enjoy it. Wish I could watch the chicken processing to see if it is something I am up for......maybe some day.

This guy is really clean and efficient. Some people complain about the smell but I have found that if you don't overheat your scald water or cut into something that you shouldn't

, it's not a problem at all. Not something I'd do indoors though.

Sooner - you must be a sound sleeper !!! It hit here about
2:30. Lightening, thunder, wind and torrential rain, but
thankfully, no hail that I know of. Guess I'm still not used
to this metal roof in a hard rain. You can really hear it
under the attic fan vent in the hallway. But, we were needing
the rain bad here, too.

Am campaigning hard to try to get this bunch to the lake for
at least a week ONCE this summer. Gees, two years ago we
spent 68 days down there ! I still can't believe they're making
these kids start school August 6th ! But, guess we'll enjoy
a week down there this fall when they have "fall break".....
if I can get 'em down there............
