I've been following them, looks like it's all moot until Monday when folks start makin' phone calls.

So have you had a chance to form an opinion yet ?, What do you think ?. My original thought was just to inform our folks of the possibility of a problem. I seriously dought Ideal will answer the callers Q's with yes we are experiencing a problem don't order yet!!!. So it will be interesting to see what develops. My guess would be that they hear/see and speak no evil LOL.

Me, I think it should be treated as an unsubstantiated rumor started by an anonymous Internet poster until it can be verified by government regulatory officials in MD and Texas.

Looks like it has been busy here today. Hope I don't jinx it.

Al, Sorry to hear about the invasion and your losses. I echo Buster's thoughts about how in the heck did something get in there. That is a nice looking set up. looks almost military.
The most striking thing is that there isn't any thing out of place around it. Or should I say in place around it.
There is so much extra stuff around my pens, it looks like a Sanford & Son/ Ma & Pa Kettle swap meet.
Maybe if you painted it lime green and orange with some big red and yellow flowers on it then the varmints would stay away.
Oh yeah and some 60's rock music.
Maybe we could trap some coons, give them some kind of virus and then release them and let them kill off each other.
Nah then we would have a coon flu pandemic and chaos would rule the land.

Back to my rooster deal. If I started feeding these suckers broiler feed and kept a light on them would they grow out fast enough to be able to sell off at a decent price. They are large fowl roos for the most part, Marans Welsummers, Turken outcrosses with RI's and BO's and a few scraggy project birds.
I am thinking pour the protien to them for two weeks and see what happens.

Muesky, Thanks for being a good sport. Al can be so insensitive when it comes to others way of life. You should have seen what he said to the San Francisco BBQ Society folks. I think he made them cry.

Stimpy, What kind of envelope are you using? I want to be careful if I ever get a letter from you.
If you have to contact me via the U.S. postal service please just send a postcard.
Carla, How did you make it missing Blanchard twice in a row. Are you feeling light headed?

Monty-
How are you doing this evening? I am watching an OETA show about honeybees. Very interesting.

I think there are more raccoons this year. A friend of mine who lives on two acres on the edge of MWC has trapped two families of coons this Spring/summer and was visited by a family group of 8 more, just last week. They have killed all of her chickens, which she kept in cages - several times over. I have given her "extras" several times, but have had to tell her that I can't repopulate her chickens again until she has the coons under control. She has just lost too many this past year.

Hello all! Wonderful evening here, cooler temps.

Al, sorry to hear of your loss! Coon got seven of mine about three weeks ago! I was so upset! Got my favorites too. But coon got his in the end!

Saw a thread earlier that mentioned El Fiesta restaurant in Chattanooga. Great place to eat. Wonderful family restaurant. The Garza Family own it and are real nice folks. My children grew up with some of their grandchildren. Went to school together. Kind of neat to see it mentioned here.

Kimmphil, Thanks for the name correction.
They seem like a great family. I met one of the sons, sorry can't remember his first name last year as we had weekly Dr. visits together for about two months. His son was an all state basketball player there in 2007 and signed to play somewhere in college.
I told him if I was ever down that way I would eat at the restaurant.
Before meeting him I had heard a lot of different people talking good about it.

Marybeth, I am well.I just got back from my evening visit to the Sanford and Kettle memorial chicken pens.
I was gonna watch the bee thing but I forgot it was on. I should have set the recorder.
When is a good time to get bees? I am thinking about maybe trying to set up a hive for next year.

hi everyone, trying to play catchup, was in minnesota all weekend, good to be back on okie soil! more sad news though- hubby was taking care of the chickens, and this morning he went and checked on puddin and she was dead... i just can't figure it out, she was fine when i left, maybe she caught whatever spike had.... i am just stunned...
