Monty & KT :

Thanks you guys I would just die for some nice White Rock Hens & a WR Rooster, I would buy a bunch if I could find some nice ones. But would consider some others, feels weird not having a whole passle full of cackling hens in the main hootch.

Planning is coming along nicely and the pieces are coming together for a super event.
I want to say, if any of you guys have ideas for something at P.O.O.P.S. or have an area in mind you want to help out just let us know.
Or if you have questions about anything we have posted, please ask.

Rain ??? We're jealous !!!! Checked the radad earlier.....It's
all around us, but nothing coming here. TJ and Pa-Pa went on
down to the creek fishing....caught three...they had chiggers and
ticks on them !!!!! Now to thaw out something for supper....LOL

Have a good one !

Me and NANA could definetly use some more rain here. We aint had any in a week or so. I keep seeing lightning early in the morning when I go to work but NOTHING here. We got a few drops an that was it a few days ago.

Cuban, love your avatar. What kind of gal is that?

I hate the rain, can't get anything done.

Just wondering, Is it safe to have the chicks out and about with the EE's? Because they keep escaping from their enclosure-thing in the coop that they've been in for the last month or so. The EE's don't seem to mind, they seem more freaked out by them than anything else. But, I've been told that they will get pecked to death, so I put them back where they belong, but they seem to always find some other way out. What should I do?

Let'em go and keep an eye on them.

We got a steady drizzle all day here in Haskell. All the chickens sat under the coop and grumbled.

My granddaughter is soooo excited about coming to POOPS. I am as well. We've dug through some family cook books to see what we can bring. We're still deciding, but we have a tip to share with those who like to use crock pots.

We camp a lot in the summer and usually take frozen food to cook in crock pots. Some of you may want to try this because it is easy, easy, easy. You need freezer bags and crock pot liners (Wal-Mart has both in the isle where they stock sandwich bags and aluminum foil).

1. Cut up all the meat and vegetables you plan to cook and put them in a freezer bag, add water and seasoning.
2. Close the bag and put the uncooked meal in the freezer until the day you travel.
3. When you get where you're going, put a liner in your crock pot, empty the contents of the freezer bag into the liner, plug it in and go do something fun.
4. Enjoy your crock pot meal, store your leftovers, and throw away the liner. Wipe out your crock pot and you're ready for next time.

My sister likes to cook all her meals in her crock pot before hand. She freezes the already cooked meals and then just heats them up in the lined crock pot when she gets to the camp ground. This way she gets lunch and dinner hot out of the crock pot with no washing up.

Poco :
What a good and unique tip thanks for sharing, I could see where this tip can really be helpful & useful.
We got some good steady regular non run for hills rain today, how nice was that, it felt really nice outside. I did not trap the serial killer Coon last night, maybe tonight.
Chiclooker : thanks on behalf of all of us for your contribution to POOPS.
