Morning Peeps

I hate hot days... so far I was able to work on the front yard a wee bit pulling up old plants that I no longer want in the flower bed. Ducks and geese are enjoying their days outside... YIPPIE.

I enjoy my chicks so much that I dont care they are doing the chicken dance and kicking out their hay outta the brooder box and onto my old wood floors...

So where do you all brooder your babies? In the house, Coop or barn?

I'm sure they are beautiful in person. Do they come in bantams also. I don't like the ideal of haveing to speacial feed and pamper like the phoneix require. The cubalayas are pretyy neat tho. Thanks.

There are bantam cubalaya, but it's hard to find good ones. Cackle Hatchery has them, but their line doesn't look right. I think they've blended in or focused too much on the OEGB blood.

There are few folks out there working on them. They're not popular like the OEGB so they've fallen to the way-side as a breed.

You're welcome! I enjoy them, they're very people friendly and pretty hardy birds. They have an intelligence about them that I've only seen in the oriental gamefowl. They're very showy too, with little maintenance required. The downside to the lengthy tails is whenever it rains and the pens get muddy. I do have to make sure to wash the mud out of the tails because the feathers act like wicks.

Sorry I only posted it for the person asking about it. You can still post it again. I don't think we can ever post it too much with the way this group chats! It is really had to find if you don't know where to look.

Good afternoon everyone looks as though it is going to be HOT!!! Guess that is many of the things that you get for living in Oklahoma!!! Hope everyone has a great day and please everyone stay safe in this heat!!

I do have more photos. Let me upload them and I'll email you the link & password. Photobucket doesn't give you any problems does it?

nope- photobucket is not a problem, most of my images are on flikr though...

feathersite is wonderful, although i was a little concerned on copyright issues- get alot of mine from folks on flickr, where i can sort the copyrighted ones out- i am always needing clear photos!
