I work with my next door neighbor I will ask her not to gripe if I get another roo. I would like a NH or a white or a barred rock. Ive been giving her tomatoes and cantaloupes. and when my pullets start laying good I wiil offer some eggs. I love to have some baby chicks next spring so I could eat or sale em. And the second year could have some replacement pullets.

Got 4 that are 18 weeks old now they still like to play keep away with the goodies. I can throw plenty for all and they still play keep away sometimes. Think i will go to town for something to eat. Talk to yall later.

Can anyone test a couple of my daughters silly
chickens for the show ? They are sick looking
chickens but she wants to try I guess. Does any
one live out my way that can test and help me with
a leg band ?

NNbreeder (LES) Doesn't live in your area but I think they come to the Jones auction just about every Thursday.
Poultryandbees lives South OKC but I don't know if she has the testing stuff yet.
I know she is certified, bonafied and dignified.

My thoughts exactly....LOL Is a total hoot....we'll find a cricket
and drop it into one of the big, clear boxes that we put our
little ones in.....yup, in my livingroom floor..... and the rodeo is
on...... Some folks watch fish in their aquairums.....Not nearly
as much fun as a cricket dropped in a box with 40+, week old
chicks in it.......LOL

So, what's everyone doin' this weekend. The Illinois River
Balloon Fest is this weekend here in Tahlequah out at the
airport. Yup, Tahlequah has an airport....LOL The "chase" is
a lot of fun to watch. They fly in from over the mountain south
of the airport and try to drop low enough over an "X" marked
on the field to drop their marker. Then, fire up and lift off back
to their designated area for landing. A couple of years ago, one
team dropped to within 6" of the "X" and got a bullseye.......
Of course, the crowd went wild.....LOL The "crud" part of it is
that most of their events are dependent on the wind/weather.
So far, looks like it's a "go" for this one.

We'll probably go both nights, but only actually go into the
area tomorrow night. One night, Na-Na popps a big grocery bag
of popcorn, packs an ice chest of drinks, and we sit across the
highway and just watch the balloons come in. When it comes
to "flying", that is the "one and only" trip that Na-Na might
take. That looks sooooooooo neat....and they are beautiful
to watch.

Have a good one, all !!!!!!!!!!

Hey everyone,
Well I got a lot of my chicks separated into different pens today. I don't think they were overcrowded i their big pen but they just didn't seem to be doing that well. Plus they keep piling on at night despite having lights.
These are the survivors of the same dummy group that wasn't smart enough to get out of the rain last week. Despite having a 10x12 indoor house to go into.
I think chicks hatched in an incubator misss out on learning from mother hen and that is why they are so ignorant.

I dunno Monty, I have some yard babies that mama hen let loose and she either never taught them to roost or they didn't learn because they go back to their "nest" to sleep every night.
