I'm back from Slapout! Hope everyone is doing well, sorry I'm not going to try to catch up on posts. I wouldn't even know where to start. *ha*

Looks like I've got 1 Cuckoo Maran and 1 Blue Copper Maran. So does anyone else have those breeds so I can end up with a pair??

Here's some pics I took while I was in Slapout:

Cool pics. Looks like Slapout is totally flat land! Did you only get to bring home the two marans? Are they grown and laying?
Had a hen hatch out 6 more this morning.

I guess if I live to be a hundred I will still be fasinated by just hatched chicks! And the little EE's are co cute because they come out different everytime. I just love them.

Found a guy a couple hours away that is buying all left over chicks from some hatchery. He said he has to take all weather its 100 or 500! Supposed to have all kinds of bantams. He is reselling them for 1$ -$2.50 each. I'm going to try and run over there tommorow and see what he has.

Hi everyone as you know the fall P.O.O.P.S will be Sept. 26th. It has been decided that we would have a Pot luck lunch & dinner! We are looking for foods that are just as good cold as they are hot.

We will have limited outlets for crock pots if that is something you might be interested in. We will also have limited space to keep things cool between lunch and dinner, so if you bring something that needs to be kept cool make arrangements for that. For some folks that travel you could possibly have your ingredients made and put them together on site. Keep in mind the number of people that will be attending when making your dish or dishes.

We will also need paper goods, silverware & drinks. I have a couple of large igloo coolers that can be used for tea & kool-aid. If you have an one we could use let me know. I will need volunteers for set up before each meal along with volunteers for clean up after.

Please contact (PM) myself or TJ’s Nana if you have any questions or if you need a suggestion as to what you can bring. I will keep a running list of items.

Volunteer’s to help set up & clean up (will set times later

Evening all :

Had a great time last night with all my good buddies we ended up having a bunch of fun and we didn't even get into any trouble (DANG) LOL. Got home at about 3:00 am and have been a little lazy today, yeah we got all the fish cleaned had an assembly line going so it went fast. We have decided to all go to the golf course in the morning and play a round.

Thanks for all the compliments everyone! My sister is the better photographer, so I was proud of what I took. I have some rainbow pictures too. Pretty sure the storms I took were in Kansas, that's how flat and narrow the panhandle is.

dachsunds - Actually the Marans are what I hatched. They hatched a week ago, while I was gone. After I get pens built I am going back to slapout and will be bringing home 1 Barred Rock pullet and an Australorp pair. I wanted 3 Rocks but something got them.

Monty - I wondered if you still had Marans! I will probably be catching up with you in about a year to pick another one out. *ha* Let me know if you hear of anyone close who has Blue Coppers.

So where is Mary's and when does it start?

Mary's is in Midwest City and some people start getting there well before daylight to set up. I don't go on Sundays so I don't know how busy it is then.
Weather and the time of the month help determine the crowds.
There are usually four or five chicken sellers there.
Lots of misc. stuff. Its a good size swap.

Well my nine year old caught four trout today so I grilled them for supper. I didn't gt to eat much though, the little vaccuum cleaner sucked up just about everything but the bones.
I guess he figured "I caught em I eat em"

Les or any other genetic types out there.
I saw an absolutly gorgeous rooster at the swap meet today.
He was a barred buff color.
I am guessing a barred rock and buff orp cross. I don't know. He did have some barred rock feathering in his tail and wings but the rest was buff barrring.
I wanted to buy him really bad but I don't need another rooster.
Juster wondering if anyone has seen any thing of that color.
I know he will just end up in someone's pot.

Monty - That rooster sounds gorgeous! You should've bought him, you can never have too many PRETTY roosters.

Who did you hear from about an Alex auction? That's between me and Blanchard, actually pretty close to Blanchard.
