Queen S : I am doing great today, not much on my plate except some small errands in town but mostly just gonna go goof off. How bout you???.

All this talk of goofing off is just making me want to take off work, but then again I can sit at work and goof off and get paid for it!!!! So I think that I will just stay here till 3 or so and go home and sit and drink a cold beverage and watch the chickens!!!!

Hey ya Queen I was upset that I didnt get to meet you! I had all intentions of spending the weekend there but things happen. Are you going to poops? If so I will have my whole crew there and I am thinking of rounding up the silkies and some white cochins to bring and no telling what else!!!!!

We just got out of the doctor's. my daughter will have to have surgery to remove a bone tumor from her finger. Leave it to a little girl, all she is worried about is having a scar. Lol. The doc is pretty positive that the tumor is benign, but can't be sure until it is tested. Hope everyone is doing well today and enjoying the cooler weather. I think it will be a good day to work on the new coop. gonna have to get it done soon with all these new babies and the ones still to come.

That is the Duke of Monticello to you my friend.

So how are you? How did the Al Estate fair after last nights storm?
Man we had horizontal rain for a long time and then just hard straight down rain,
I looked out and saw my beagle dog paddling for his life. If he hadn't been in a canoe I'm not sure he would have made it.
Now all the stuff that was in the driveway from my garage cleanup is scattered everywhere.
I think I'll leave the pop cans there as yard decor. Nah I don't think I could get away with it.
I figured I lost some chickens in the storm but all seem to come through it OK. The pens are partially covered but with the wind like it was, I am sure they all got wet anyway.

Fellow Okies,
I am trying to decide what layer to feed my chickens.
I am tired of TSC and not really happy with the quality of their food.

Does anyone use the Evergreen brand? What are your thoughts?

Thanks

Well first welcome to the group.
I have used Evergreen feed before and it was OK.
I have found that no matter what brand, you need enough protein.
I use 18% when I can get it ans sometimes even 20%.
Most of the time though it is the 16%.
I am using Nutrena now and I am not sure who makes it. It may be Evergreen. I will check.
Lots of people like Purina but it is not available close to me so I don't use it.

OKchick, Glad you are with us. As you read on this post you will be seeing a lot of stuff about our fall event. So if you have any questions just ask.
Let me know where you are from and I will get you on our list.

I am jealous of everyone who got rain. The weather people here kept saying we'd get rain in Tulsa last night - watch out for the big thunderstorms, but NO - not a drop.

So now I have to go out and mow since I no longer have an excuse to keep skipping it...drat.
