What kind of quail? I bought some eggs and got less than half to hatch. But they were shipped from TN. I guess it's alright considering they were set and forgotten. I didn't candle or handle the entire time. I only checked temps and humidity. My DH wants quail. We have Coturnix and Button. They are so cute. I have a Button that looks like a mini-Coturnix. It is my fav.

If I think of them as little cabbages I seem to like them better! How did you prepare them?

Brussels sprouts are great when you cut them in half, put them single layer in a microwave safe pan, sprinkle with raw cut up bacon, season with salt and pepper, cover with Saran wrap and microwave for 8-11 minutes. I never liked them very well until my sister-in-law prepared them like that. Same recipe works great with raw or frozen whole green beans.

I like them no matter how you fix them but I will be doing this very soon! Anything with bacon works for me.

Looks like the RIR is going to make it, yeah!!!! After warming up she opened her eyes and pulled her legs back under her. Amazing, I thought she was so close to dead there was no hope for her.

Sorry you lost one Matt but glad you were able to save the others. I had three crazy one's do the same last night. Two were in a tree so they were left there, the other was on top of the shelter right above the door. I set her inside and she seemed fine this morning.

Friday! Friday! Friday!

It looks like we are gonna have between 20 and 30 folks for out Friday evening HOO HAH.
I know we have plenty of hamburger buns provided by Chiclooker.
If the some rest of us will bring some HB meat, weiners and hot dog buns we should be set.
If you have something special you want grilled ala brats, polish, hot links etc. bring those and I will perfect them on the griil.
I think we have enough condiments.
If you already know what you are bringing let me know.

Ok I have to get off of here or everyone won't think I am not doing anything for the event of the year.
I gotta go get busy busy busy.

Monty

According to weather.com it is suppose to be a

FRI: High of 75, low of 57 with 30% precip
SAT: high of 78, low of 62 with 0% precip.
SUN: High of 80, low of 62 with 0% precip.

Now with that being said and the ability of the weathermen, your guess is as good as anyone's!

I wish we were doing burgers on Saturday. I have a freezer full of HB patties from the beef we just butchered. He was too tough to do anything else with. I still don't know what to bring on Saturday. I don't think we will be there at mealtime but I want to bring something. Maybe I'll just figure something out to donate for the auctions. I hate showing up empty-handed. Especially when everyone has worked so hard to make this event so wonderful.

Everytime I wash my t-shirts and hang them out to dry it rains.

It came a flood last night, had to make sure my feather legged mama and babies were put up. Otherwise I'd have lost the babies! Cubalayas
