Big O I sure wish there was there was a way for you to make it Saturday, I say this from the heart, you will be sorely missed. The same goes for KT/Henny's POOPS will not be the same without you & the sausage king to brighten the day.

Morning. Murpheys law has hit once again. It never fails. Spring I couldnt get done what I wanted due to a baby being born now its my grandson he is a sickey. I am the fill in babysitter when they are sick. I might be able to drop him off at my moms this afternoon, but wont know until around noon. I will be there later this afternoon tho for sure.

Those that can not make it you will be missed.

Ok I'm a first timer. I've never been to an event like this, heck I've never been to an auction period. I need to know specifically what I need to do with my birds. How to transport, how to label, what about food and water during transport for chicks. If someone could give me some information that would be great. I don't have any wire cages but I do have a small pet carrier, a medium petcarrier. and a large dual cage wooden box. I will be bringing my pickup with the box in the back. I was thinking about splitting the babues up and putting them in the carriers. Should I put the little one up front in the pickup or would they be fine in the box on the back of the pickup? I think I am in over my head. The box has a padlock latch on it to keep it closed.

Oh my...I HAVE been lurking! Mostly to get health info for my feathered babies! I have been to quite a few of the auctions--so while you may not know me as FunChick, many of you will likely recognize my husband and I from auctions we attend. I am excited to get some new "babies"--anyone bringing welsummers? Speckled Sussex? I am needing to replace hens stolen by a coyote...whaaaa!

Id make sure they were kept warm as possible and not crowded to much. Cover with an old blanket or something to keep them from getting to much wind. Probably wouldnt worry about food and water while traveling. They will need food and water as soon as you arrive tho. There is water there.

Also make sure the crate or carrier they will be in does not slide around to much.

The labeling I am not sure about.

Hope that helped a little.

Thanks. I made this box myself last night. I haven't cut any vent holes in it yet. There are some cracks at the seams. Should I go ahead and put vent holes in it? I think that with me driving down the road at 70+,

it might be enough of a breeze for them since it will be cool in the morning. Anyone have any advice.

Also, if you are taking the chicks in the pet carrier make sure to put pine shavings in the bottom or paper towels. Dont want the little guys sliding around and hurting their legs.

Good Morning everyone! Ive got a long day, was hoping it would be slow so I could stop by the campgrounds and say hi to those that are arriving today. I hope everyone has a safe trip for those that are traveling to get to POOPS.
