I know some of you out there are praying people. I need some prayers for my grandma. She was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer last February. She has been doing well on chemo but they changed her meds and she isn't doing very well now. She has been sick the last three weeks. It have been so bad lately that she can't get out of bed. She has been in St. Anthony's since Monday. They changed her meds again and she has felt better today. I had a bad childhood and she has always been my constant. I know she will not be here forever but I don't want it to happen now. Most of the family can't visit because of various illnesses. I can't see her because of being around my kids. They are now both sick. I really don't expect her to ever recover from the cancer but it would be helpful if she could make it a little while longer, at least until the family can visit. The doctors aren't holding out much hope for her at this point. They are doing their best, but don't know if it will work. I would appreciate all the prayers. I had to finally explain things to Lauren today. She has been crying all evening. But I'd rather prepare her. In July my husband's grandma died from cancer. Her death was sudden and we did not have time to prepare the kids. They took it really hard. I wanted to prepare the kids the best I could this time. I am sorry this is such a long post, but I just need to talk to someone. My grandparents are all the family I have.

Yep, I agree. That is why I was scrabbling on Thursday to completely clean out every coop and put down fresh bedding. We have never lost a hen to the cold though. We have only lost two from old age, one from something the hen did on her own, and one by the outside dog, but all survived the winter.

Yeah, I wanted to add more than four, but I am guessing DH would kill me if I did. So there are a total of 8 eggs set, lol.

Sooner - guinie pigs? got breeding pairs??? I really need a long hair male!

well we didn't see any racoon's last night...and thankfully no skunks! The way you know if it is a skunk is the dog comes back smelly!!

Had fun at the little bird show in CO. Got a few new breeds... MONTY tell your sun to get ready for some birds!!!

Have you not been paying attention? The odds are that they won't all hatch. You probably need to set some more eggs so that if only 75% hatch, you will have enough chicks to make it worthwhile to set them up a brooder.

Al - seeing as how you are the expert bird auction guy...well maybe Carla and Gerald run you a good race...if I guy was gonna drive like forever to go to one...which should he goto? I am thinking Blanchard from what I gather from you guys talking...if that is it...the next one is? Nov. 7?

I have know that but I really only wated to set up the oegb eggs, and 4 is all she has layed and i am pushing the time limit for setting them now and the cochins did not lay today, lol. All I have left of them is what is in the fridge now. Maybe tomorrow will bring some, but wouldnt that be too late?
