High school was 10+ years ago... I don't like re-living it much

Okiemommy was a great person then, she's still a great person now. She puts up with my long bouts of hermit-like behavior and still says hi to me

The sprinkles/rain this afternoon put a damper on me shingling the new coop's roof. Guess I'll do that tomorrow after work. Got shafted at the second job... not working Monday evening, so it'll be a regular day not a 14 hour day. Which is good, since I need to finish that coop!

eta: I'm not sure which one of us got chickens first... but I'll say Okiemommy did and lay the blame on her capable doorstep.

Okiemommy - the fact that you were able and willing to get your grades up in 10, 11 and 12 grades speaks volumes for your character. You are bright and no quitter.
It is always fun to see the animals again through the eyes of children who have not been around the various varieties.

Al, I still have Mr. rooster on hormones. I was too tired today to even make a call and get him picked up. I guess I was too obvious about wanting that old bird, although that emaciated but tall Buff Orphington went above $10 and then got POd because the owner wanted at least $15 for him.

It just started raining. Fortunately, I got a cover on the top of the newest rabbit's cages just a little while ago.

Thank you m'dear

We were standing there talking, and all of a sudden the ducks come running out from behind the workshop all freaked out like the devil is after them, and there is my oldest grinning ear to ear, wild eyed, as if he is parting the river Jordan

We will have to do that again. Unfortunately, between fatigue and cold medicine, my brain wasn't functioning at top speed. Our brain slowness must have been caused by sleep deprivation.

Yes! We must do it again

I think I got a few cool pics of the kids petting the Turkey though...Can't get over that! I've never seen such a docile Tom!!

Hello All!

I am from Tecumseh (Near Shawnee).

I live on a hill that is made of red clay and sand rock. The pen and run are often wet and muddy. Would you suggest sand, pine shavings, or pea size gravel to build up over the water line?? Or should I try a drainage system?

I have though about that! Man, we could hold the "nationals" in that new arena

As many chicken shows as we could get to come there would be awesome! It being close is not even a thought on my mind... All jokes aside it really would be very accommodating. Choctaws barely get something built before they are redoing it.

Who is the other tribe that sponsors 4-H Poultry Shows besides the Creek?

Al my man how ya doing?????? Did you ever get that disc I sent? we sent it on the 21st so if you havnt gotten it by now you get it in a day or 2. With that being said I am turning in early I am off to bed to go to work tmorrow!!! Everyone have a great night!!!!

HOWDY!!!

I like the sand idea with a drainage system...you put an network of pipes then cover with a fabric barrier then rock and then sand

straight pine shavings will get way nasty

rock is well...rock and not as fun for the birds to scratch, bathe, and otherwise dig

so that there is my suggestion...take it leave it or laugh! It won't phase me!! I am well medicated!

oh adn welcome! By the way...build it bigger...you need more birds..especially banties!

if it has a video of stuff that shouldn't be talked about on it...he got it and was talking about it to folks, Shawn, that didn't need to know about it
