Another way that you can stop them from biting is:
1. hold their body in your left hand
2. hold their head between your thumb and forefinger of your right hand
3. wind them up about 3 turns.

voila ... no more biting

My son had a cockatoo (sp) for years that would ride on his shoulder and sit on my daughters lap and sleep in the pocket of my wife's aprons. But when I walked in the room it would attack me for no reason at all. I was never so glad to see a varmint leave.

I am terrible with recalling the names of recording artists for various songs. I know that there is a song with the refrain "Cry me a river, cry me a river, cry me a river over you" in it , that I like. I have no idea who recorded it.

When ya'll were talking about hard rock, I cringed. I am not a fan of music that is loud, has a strong beat and dissonate notes. We listen to country & western at home, but my car radio is always tuned to one of the two classical music stations in the OKC area.

I listen some classical music too. I wouldn't say a lot, but some. I think my favorite will always be Debussy's "Prelude To The Afternoon Of A Faun". I also like "Bouree", but to be honest I prefer Jethro Tull's arrangement better that Bach's. I could never really get a handle on a lot of the others.

I listen to more blues than anything. I like rock and R&B and even some rap. I have a lot of country in my collection as well. But I always seem to start and end my days with the blues.

PS: A lot of artists have recorded "Cry Me A River" but in my opinion, the 2 best are Nina Simone and Joe Cocker.

Oh yeah ... Chickens

I think the entire Fantasia movie is just incredible - both the music and the cartoonage. It was certainly cutting edge when it was first created in about 1940.

I see teenage chickens are wandering around in the backyard, escaped from the chicken yard and looking for food. Time to go throw down some feed in hopes that they will not go wandering outside their yard very much today. At least it is 35 degrees, so their water shouldn't be frozen. I didn't notice that DH had shut off the water to the hydrant in their yard yesterday, so he could drain the sprinkler system that is beyond that hydrant. Had to carry a 5 gallon bucket of water to refill the tub I dumped in the dark, before I realized the pump handle was in the open position and nothing was coming out.

I like pretty much a little bit of everything. I have Zamphir (panpipes/pan flute) on CD in my car, some opera (fond of tenors), country but I admit to liking the older style not the "new age rock/country" hybrid. However, I cut my teeth on Queen, Kiss, Black Sabbath and others. My mom taught us some salsa at a young age, and we also love bluegrass and R&B.

I played Beethoven cds during this last hatch... it seemed to "motivate" the babies. Maybe because they wanted to shut it off, I dunno... but every little bit helps!

Yeah, I have a little of everything in my collection too. I listen to a lot of oldies and classic rock. I have some new age and techno stuff (some, not a lot). Right now, I'm listening to a playlist that contains Brooke Benton, and ZZ Top.
