poultryandbees - Thank you for all the info. I feel privelaged that I am not allergic to peanuts! I would take my condition over that any day.

Slightly Cracked - Oh no, I could never work in the med field. Even though both my parents do. Lol. I'm an Environmental Science major at OU. I had asked them if the ACT was necessary if an Associates has already been earned, and they said no. And you know OU is freakin picky. So you might check with your future college, you might be suprised!

Betsy - I will most likely have to have a minor procedure, that's what I'm afraid of. I've been through so many already for other things.

You should see the beautiful little Silkie that you gave me! She has so much yellow on her now, everybody loves her. I will try to get a picture sometime soon; Silkies don't photograph well in the wind. Lol

osukrazykate - I am an Environmental Science major. I should have gone to OSU, but when I started I wanted to be able to commute. I might end up at OSU eventually anyway.

faeire - This is Firm Tofu. I'm so excited to see that so many others eat it! Hopefully I can get some ideas. Beef is high, but if you buy the ground chuck from Walmart in the 5 lb tube, it actually saves you money in the end. We break it up into pounds and freeze it. Well, before we got our own cow butchered.
I love your little MFC's, they are just too cute!!

Henney - I will be eating chicken, beef, and turkey for the holidays!! I can't believe how fast Thanksgiving came either!

When I get better I'm gonna want some of that Monty Fried Chicken!

But not if it comes from Mille Fleur Cochins.
Had another sleepless night, missing all my classes today. I'm starting to feel guilty, like a little kid faking sickness or something. Maybe because I'm so whiney. Pretty sure Clark's 92 year old grandma is in better health than me. Lol jk

Thanks for all the advice and thoughts and prayers everyone!

It's a beautiful day Okies. Grilled tofu seasoned with herbs and spices. Next time you have a smoker going, smoke it then slice it thin and use as cheese on your sandwich with whatever meat. Did you see my post about the horchata (rice milk) County?

Came in to get some water, thought I would check and see what is going on. Can you tell I am lonely for other human interaction? Those books just have not been doing it for me the last week, hehehe. :}--

Oh my goodness, I cannot believe it. I have done my undergraduates in Statistics, Computer Science, and Mathematics. Did Biostatistical Medical research for almost 10 years. Now I have been back at OSU was working towards my Phd in Stats, but just started this semester in a Masters program in Environmental sciences/engineering. How far you into the Env degree? You will have to let me know if/when you decide to come to OSU. Perhaps we will have classes together. Where do you go to school now?

Good idea on grilling tofu that sounds really good right now, maybe I should get some lunch! Then back outside, it is super nice shirt and shorts weather, I love it!

ke_ben - I did, that actually sounds like a yummy desert or something! My hubby likes mexican foods, he had shown me that before. Its hard to try new things when you already don't feel good.

Is the horchata in the refrigerated section? I've seen some mixes that are dry.

osu - I will actually graduate this May! Why on earth are you going back if you already have all this other greatness!? Lol. I've been struggling for two extra years just to get a Bachelors. I don't know if I will wanna go back, unless I have an opportunity to do poultry or animal science. Where are you headed after you get your final degree??

I first came back to school because the company I was working for was sending me back to school to further my Statistics degree. They laid me off over a year ago and since the economy isn't doing so well and it has been hard to find my kind of work, I decided to get another type of degree to round out my edges and make myself more marketable in other type of works. Plus, I like trying to do things to better our earth and love to be outdoors instead of sitting in front of a computer reading and crunching numbers all day long. Of course, here I am back at school doing almost just that, LOL, well at least I will be done eventually and get my dreams. I am starting my thesis on Phytoremediation, the use of plants to clean contaminated soils, water and air. Well, at least that is what I am working on right now.

Well, my daughter and I went to China this last summer and traveled around there and they are doing a lot of trying to change their environment so maybe I will end up there.

We loved it a lot almost did not come back!

The mixes are nasty IMO, but you can make your own or a get it at mexican restaurants/supermarkets (here anyway), ask for agua fresca. It really isn't a dessert, more like a beverage or milk replacement. You can buy just the plain rice milk (water) in the refrigerated section but maybe not at Wal-Mart? The horchata just has more flavor, less blah. Both rice and cinnamon are kind of natural stomach smoothers also, bonus? I do actually like rice pudding as dessert too. My wife has something going on right now with her digestive system also. All the symptoms of gall bladder but you never know what might set her off. She has 1 more test to do (after many), a HIDA scope? to check GB function. Best of luck to you.

County - don't forget eggs as a source of a quick lunch without cheese. Egg salad sandwiches are good and so are boiled eggs (since you don't have to watch your salt intake). You might also try mixing some raw honey into your rice drink - both for flavor and for the health benefits of raw honey.

Henny - glad to see you are in a good mood and aren't cleaning at the moment. My family would be so excited if I were to take up cleaning as a means of relieving frustration and stress. Instead, I just take a nap.

OSUKrazyKate - this is the wrong group to ask if you are wanting to be talked out of getting an incubator
lau.gif

I like to set eggs to hatch about the time a broody hen will be hatching her eggs - that way, if she abandons the nest I can put her remaining eggs in the incubator, plus I can put a bunch of the chicks that hatch in the incubator under the new mama hen so she takes care of them instead of me keeping chicks in a brooder. Hens can't count, but they can see color, so you can add more chicks of the same color as those hatched by the hen - provided you do it quickly enough that the chicks want to stay under mom for a few days for warmth - since the incubator chicks don't have the natural instinct from the day they hatch, to come to her voice.

ke_ben - Ok I'm glad I didn't get the mix then. Lol. Have they done blood work on her? They thought mine was gallbladder til they did the blood work.

poultryandbees - How could I forget about eggs!? I will definitely be making spam and egg sandwhiches!

Oh I've been forgetting to tell you! My father-in-laws wife got me some honey from Minco, which is actually very close to us. She told me they have the little pollen pellets too. So of course I bragged about how knowledgable you were and what all you told me at POOPS.

Les - I've heard of the Angelfood, its a wonderful idea. My grandmother buys it, since its hard for her to get out and grocery shop on her own. She said there is too much meat for her to eat on her own, so she gives some of it to others in need.

So I was wondering, does anyone have those Christmas trees that are all one outrageous color, like hot pink? I'm so intrigued by them! Walmart has a few of them that are maybe 1 ft, for $8. I'm really thinking about getting one...

Last year was our first Christmas in this house. I put icicle lights off the gutters, lights around the bushes in our flower bed, and lined the flower beds and sidewalk with lights. All white. Then I put green garland with big red bows on the posts and railing on the porch. Then I had all kinds of goodies inside. I look forward to Christmas all year.

How do you decorate for the holidays?
