Just teasing, Sooner. I much prefer a nice 75 degree day, just that I handle the cold a lot better than the heat. As I said before, with cold I can always add more layers. With the heat there is only so much I can take off before I start scaring the neighbors.
That thing about frozen snot is no joke, though. First time it happened it scared the heck out of me. I thought my whole head was going to freeze on the spot.

It is warmer here than down south! well it was! Y'all should see all the crazy people out with guns right now! Everywhere you look there are orange vests swarming over the fields! Cracks me up when the fools run into deer hunters...rock, paper, scissors...rifle wins!
Al - I am only staying Friday night...gotta get my new haul home! I can hardly wait! Birds gallore!!! My wife is gonna kill me..

My feet hurt when I first get around on a cold day, especially my left where a cow stepped on it when I was kid. But, it goes away after I move around a little bit. If it gets worse or spreads, I'm sure my attitude about the cold will change.
I'm doing my inside work today, cleaning bators and straightening my office and such. Too wet and cold out there right now.
smfamf - How is Lauren doing? Are ya'll back home yet?
shidalgo- Sorry to hear your having troubles.
Hope you get to feelin better soon.
Sooner - Those foo foo birds, they fake it cuz they wanna come inside. Lol
Grace's Dad - I can just picture Grace putting the bird in the box and blow drying it, that is too cute. I bet it'll be just fine.
It looks dry out here today. I was up at 8, and we didn't have anything goin on then either. Last night the news folks said we have a better chance of snow for Thursday.
I went out today to let out my chickens and do all the feeding and found a huge masacre in my barn. The dogs had gotten out of their kennel we keep them in at night and killed every chicken except for on rooster, he managed to fly up and perch it out. All of the chickens I was hoping to show and some I was going to sell are now all dead. Around 50 chickens dead! I cannot believe it. I am so so so sad. Even some babies that my hens had hatched are all dead. I just don't know what to do, well except the obvious. I think there are some dogs whom are going to find some new homes of course.
So I do have a question though. I had a hen that went broody a couple of days ago (she is now dead) and I had put some eggs under her to hatch. Can those eggs still be hatched even if they have now gone cold, or are they a lost cause because she had already sat on them for a day or two?
We are home. Sorry it took me so long to update. I planned on doing it after we left the hospital, but I was elected to drive. We ended up not visiting Grandpa because Lauren was really tired. We decided to just bring her home and let her rest. She has a split that looks like a temporary cast. It has to remain in place for 2 weeks. We can't even take it off to clean it. She is laying in bed watching cartoons and eating candy. She is supposed to stay home for two weeks, but I will have to send her to school next week. Both my DH and I have to work. My grandma is feeling great and has agreed to watch her on Friday for me. She will only have to stay with her for the morning and then Daddy will pick her up before lunch. Fridays are his short days. The doctor is going to have the tumor tested for cancer. I requested it because of the huge amount of cancer in my family. I want to thank everyone for their prayers and well-wishes. It has meant a lot to me and my family.
1. Incubate the eggs. It can't hurt and you might be surprised.
2. Kill the dogs. Don't pass the problem on to someone else. You're not doing the dogs any favors either.
I'm just sayin'
-Stimp-
I normally do not have a hurtful bone in my body, but at this moment I want to beat and kill those dogs. However, these dogs we have had one for almost ten years. They are all out of a line I bread and one of them is a show dog. I don't think I can just kill them. I am thinking of them going to good homes that don't have chickens. They are Weimaraners, so it is in their nature to go after birds. I am thinking of finding them a hunting home, because they do want to hunt.
As for the incubator, I do not have one yet. But I have been thinking of getting one, but where can I go out and buy a good one and how long do I have? I live over an hour from Tulsa? I live in the boondocks.
